Inzaghi should have got chosen for the euro and it's comeback to haunt Donadoni. Donadoni is not experienced enough to be coach and made many poor decisions. Lippi should be making a return fingers crossed, some rumours going around that Donadoni might be given another chance.

As for Spain they are overdue to win the Euro and are the clear favourites, they should go onto win it.

I love it how the commentators were calling Pirlo and Di Natale

Pearl-o and Di Natalie

shiraz Tosssers

And how the blokes at the beggining of Setantas telecast, Lineker,Tooser, Shearer, O'neill were baggin the Italians Game plan.
It was NOT VERY pretty, but the Italiani did what they had to to halt the spanish juggernaut!

Whats MORE entertainig is the fact that Engerlsnd will be playin the same way, just wait and watch under Capello

Bloody John Motson called Ambrosini 'Albertini' when they were going through the lineups.

Whilst your on the subject of bagging half the Italian team, why isn't anyone critical of Luca Toni. That bloke is purely there for his height and he had 2 clear cut chances to get up off the ground and header the ball towards goal. Instead his feet remained planted to the ground and his headers went well wide of the goal. I think Donadoni relied too much on what Toni had done in the Bundasleiga rather than looking at what he was doing in the Euro. He hadn't scored all tournament, and missed countless opportunities. I would've loved to have seen Inzaghi in there as he is known goal poacher. Pity, he wasn't even in the squad.

exactly. a gripping tactical battle... Italy had a plan, and did it well, unfortunately we were just missing the creativity of Pirlo on the break. I admired Italy's stamina defending 120 minuted with 10 men behind the ball and when they attacked they looked very dangerous.

Because he has his own thread where we berate him for his crappy performances.

exactly. Tactical battles are what the knockout stages of the Euro are all about.

Italia won the tactical battle but lost the match. Well in to Spain

as for those now bagging Italia, easy to bag them after a loss, not so easy to support them is it.

Not the worst side in my view. I mentioned after the first game that Donadoni had taken Italian football backwards as he was in the mold of Sacchi and Trapattoni. To negative and poor with his squad selection. Afew to many of the old tried and tested players and very little imagination showed in attack as they are not allowed to get to many players forward.

Well done to Spain for playing attacking football. Italy defended like we'd expect but didn't get players forward in number and insidted on playing to a lone man in the air when it hadn't worked yet. He should of gone small for the lsat 30 minutes and tried to attack with pace at feet seeing it didn't look like we ciould hit Toni from set pieces or crosses, not that he was in the form required to finish them anyway.

As for the penalties, I'd like to see the best takes go first, the risk is the best players often don't get to trake the last penalty if he's the fifth taker and there is a miss. ADP was the fifth and best taker and he didn't get the chance to keep us in the game.

Hope Donadoni's shown the door.

I honestly think that while Donadoni failed, the real people that should be held responsible are the people who gave him the job in the first place

I mean he was one of Italia's real rising stars in terms of managers, if he continued his apprenticeship at Livorno, he wouldve eventually followed Ancelotti's path up the ranks eventually becoming Milan boss.

Its taken Donadoni's career backwards moreso than Italian football.

but yes, his time as CT is up.

greece was in the group of death! russia-spain semi. Greece vs russia game....russia had to win via a very very poor error by greek goalkeeper. Greece then had a good onside goal dissallowed. Oh how things could have been very different. russia didnt have haryd any goalscoring chances against greece whereas against the dutch, russia should have won 5-1.

lets face it, italys bubble was ready to burst, they scraped through the group stage and mutu should have scored that penalty against italy. The italians had their share of luck and it ran out. Turkey, have had the most Barossa Pearl luck thus far and that bubble will burst in a few days against germany!

germany-russia final. World War 3.
