Start of the New season / Here are the scheduled fixtures

Post by adelaidepie »

Blank Blank blank blank blank. hmm why is this so?

Why are the clubs and coaches not being given their fixtures yet?

Yep I know as much as everyone else which is not much.

We are supposed to start in two weeks time and yet no 'official fixtures' have been released as far as I know, Why?

Surely the fixtures have been made so why the delay?

The weather should have nothing to do with it and nore should the rearranged charity game as the fixture could have been postponed not just kept secret.

How can this sort of organisiation run this way? Surely all teams should be having the opportunity to keep organising friendlies or know they are about to play their first game of the season. Sorry but this is a joke!

They are due out today. They were delayed by some clubs not providing all their info on their affiliation forms or not getting their forms in on time, which meant that a lot of divisions numbers were not finalised until earlier this week.

Also it was confirmed yesterday that the season wont kick off until 6th April

Thank you for providing this information.

I understand the reason but I still think that someone needed to take this by the horns and sort this out earlier and then maybe make amendments rather than no information. As how many teams have been preparing for two weeks time?

Still some information flow is better than none!

Are you on the mailing list from SAWSA by any chance??? Because they have been sending out numerous emails since the last week in February chasing clubs up about this stuff and it was clearly stated that the consequence of this information not being provided would be to delay the release of the fixtures.

Clubs need to be responsible for their part in this also. Too many clubs march to the beat of their own drum and don't realise that deadlines are there for a reason (or just ignore them), and there are some 40+ clubs affiliated with SAWSA who will be affected by their delaying the provision of essential information.

I personally prefer to get the correct information ONCE, rather than get sent something that then gets changed 3 or 4 times as new information comes in.

Last year we received the fixture booklets, I printed 20 copies for the girls at my club (and each booklet is about 18 pages long), and then a week later changes were made including changes to kick-off times, away shirt colours and venues, and I had to re-print the books or sift through them to find where the changes were. Pain in the **** I can tell you!!

No - I would rather they get it right and then send me the CORRECT copy that I can give to the players ONE TIME!!!

No I'm not. I assume rightly on r wrongly that maybe someone at the club is! I understand that this may not all be SAWSA's fault but I would thnk at some stage enough would be enough. Maybe what could have taken place is a 'draft' fixture released with a note saying subject to change in the next two to three weeks. Then SAWSA set a date for the 'final draft' copy and send this out once they were happy with the dates, times and schedule.

This way at least everyone has some information and some expected starting dates etc where currently most people appear to have little or none!

Please don't get me wrong in thinking I am just saying this for the sake of stirring, I just believe these are the little things that maybe / should be organised a little better to ensure that the game continues to grow as it should.
