STINGRAYS BEACH SOCCER - "CITY BEACH SOCCER"

An Introduction to Beach Soccer
Beach Soccer was originally inspired by the acrobatic football played on the beaches of Brazil, with the Official Rules created in 1992. The game focuses on some of the most spectacular aspects of modern football: skill, agility and, above all, goals. The irregular nature of the soft-sand playing surface lends itself to an entertaining style of play, with the ball spending most of the time in the air and the players forced to improvise with moments of awesome individual flair - expect lots of overhead kicks and diving headers!

The pitch measures 28x37 metres [roughly a quarter the size of a grass pitch] which means players can shoot from virtually anywhere - and they do. There is a shot on goal every 30 seconds, and an average scoring rate of one goal every 3-4 minutes!

Teams consist of up to 10 players, with five on the sand at any one time. Unlimited substitutions mean the pace and flow of the game is unrelenting and in Beach Soccer there is always a winner, with the match going to 'Golden Goal' overtime followed by penalty kicks if the score is tied.
The beach party atmosphere enjoyed by spectators is maintained during the breaks between periods, when music and dancers keep the entertainment flowing.

WHY Stingrays?

Stingrays offers unique but proven programs that are used by the world best, BRAZIL! Our programs are designed to provide Associations and Clubs the cutting edge tools required for player development.

Our method stimulates and encourages the player to creatively express themselves while all along having a great time in doing it. Fun and enjoyment is the key to player development. Hard work and dedication will be acknowledged by coaches, parents and players as an enjoyable element of the player’s progression.

In Brazil, players train harder and longer because they simply enjoy and love it. Brazilian children work on their skills as if it’s an art form while always having a smile on their face. The respect for each other is common practice no matter of the ability of their peers. This cultural ethos is what Stingrays implement and duplicate for our Football market.

We believe, if the best in the world do it this way then why not do what the best do? This is why our programs are successful amongst Associations, Clubs and Players.

There's one at Unley High School, with the next season starting on the first week of October It is on and Sundays, and some weekdays (maybe wednesday and thursday) in the evening/night. It's an open competition, so U19 or whatever is fine.
