Post by N5 1BH »

Declaring on 325 after only 58 overs and then taking 3 for 37. All on day one

Given current form, anyone going to punt on a 4-0 or 5-0 england ashes win?

Baz Ball not going to work EVERY time. Will the aussies be the ones to find it out.

We are clearly the most in form team in the world at the moment but can be a different story on Day 1 of Test 1.

Remembering Bairstow and Archer could also come into this team.

Archer alongside the two greatest quick bowlers ever. What a site that could be.

It's in birmingham where it's been refurbished. The site will be pretty good despite being in birmingham

The sight will also be pretty good.

Leading quick bowling wicket taker EVER - Jimmy Anderson.

Leading test wicket taking partnership EVER - Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad

And now Jimmy tops the test bowling rankings AT 40.

@ Hawksey......what is it with you and the word 'site'???

Poms are only doing what Gilchrist did for test cricket....admittedly, theyre doing it well.

What's wrong with the word site?

Did Gilchrist do it at the start of a teat match and then have the whole team follow you?

Has the jug eared cheat ever been a "nighthawk"?

Took them long enough. Warne/McGrath much less matches.

Well they could have been a greater pairing of warne hadn't been a drug cheat.

Then again if the acb hadn't covered up his "pitch reports" and "looking good for tv" then it would have been even less.

Important thing is, Jimmy and Big Bad Stuart Broad are at #1.

lol drug cheat had a year off so imagine if he played the extra year , best spinner ever and some of you poms still cant get over it.
but i will say it is a great effort by such an old pairing to be so consistent and being match winners for the old enemy
I may not be perfect but I'm still the closest I have ever come across

Without a doubt both excessive appealers Warne and McGrath’s wicket totals would be reduced by at least a third if they had to play under DRS like Broad & Anderson have for the most part.

Imagine if he'd got the 2 year ban for the drugs, sorry you all believed the looking good on tv story.

Imagine if he'd been banned for the match fixing, sorry you all believed the weather reports story didn't you.

Imagine if McGrath had the longevity of Jimmy.

Best spinner ever - I thought we were talking about Warne.

If you didn't mention anyone who doesn't walk, no australian cricketer could ever be mentioned.

Conspiracy theory - where?

Was worried after about 6 overs. Then a quick double century partnership.

Lunch on day 5, Root & Stokes at the crease. England 90 runs to win - New Zealand 5 wickets. The way it’s been going wouldn’t rule anything out.
