With Scotland probably replacing England in the top groupings, I suppose they are the No1 footballing nation in the UK now.Bomber wrote: ↑Mon Sep 26, 2022 2:04 pmAt least you'll have easier "friendlies" in this section next time.God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Mon Sep 26, 2022 11:23 am

I haven't been following any Football for a while during the last month or two due to other matters taking precedence, a rarity for me that, so I was absolutely gobsmacked to hear how England have performed of late.eagleboy wrote: ↑Mon Sep 26, 2022 2:13 pmWith Scotland probably replacing England in the top groupings, I suppose they are the No1 footballing nation in the UK now.Bomber wrote: ↑Mon Sep 26, 2022 2:04 pmAt least you'll have easier "friendlies" in this section next time.God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Mon Sep 26, 2022 11:23 am

What happened to all the young players coming through with huge expectations of taking the World Cup by storm?
The older I get the better I was.

Well done on answering a question for once. I completely disagree with you. Friendlies are to look at players, look at link ups, look at formations etc. Results are completely irrelevant.
So a follow up, we just lost to italy. Whose position would you rather be in. Italy who have won a friendly, or England who are going to the world cup?

I’d rather be in Englands shoes, but I reckon Italy would do better than England if they were there.

Re: England pre- WC Squad
After 6 long years it must be blatantly obvious by now even to Southgate that when Grealish plays we are a better team, when Sakha plays forward right we are a better team, when Kane stays in the box we are a better team and when Sterling isn’t on the pitch we are a better team playing joined up football. Front 3 of Sterling, Kane, Foden clearly has no chemistry and isn’t working but guess who the front 3 will be come October. bottle of shiraz Southgate

I'd be a darn sight more confident if Southgate wasn't running the show, when your 'go to' stalwarts are Maguire and Sterling, you don't deserve to be managing anything other than a Playstation.God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Tue Sep 27, 2022 9:15 amOf course I am.Arena Oaxaca wrote: ↑Tue Sep 27, 2022 8:27 amAre you confident England will do well in the World Cup?
