As much as I hate to destroy your argument but I think England won the bodyline series 4:1. Bradman scored 396.MegaBonus wrote: ↑Sat Aug 20, 2022 9:15 am just a 10 sec google search destroyed your argument
How many runs did Bradman score in the bodyline series?
Australia won the five-Test series 2–1, and Donald Bradman scored 974 runs at a batting average of 139.14, an aggregate record that still stands to this day.
now you can assume whatever you want about his state of mind, but id rather refer to facts!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree, facts are great.MegaBonus wrote: ↑Sat Aug 20, 2022 9:15 am just a 10 sec google search destroyed your argument

A bit like the fact that the above isn't true.
Also the fact that he refused to play in the first test.
And the fact that Douglas Jardine watched videos of him backing away from the quick ball.
His averaged dropped (nearly halved) when facing quick bowling. Showing he might be the greatest ever at medium pace but just a great batsmen at fast.
You got him.C U Next Saturday wrote: ↑Sun Aug 21, 2022 12:26 pmWhat video player did they have in 1930's????God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Sun Aug 21, 2022 11:30 amI agree, facts are great.MegaBonus wrote: ↑Sat Aug 20, 2022 9:15 am just a 10 sec google search destroyed your argument

I'm not an expert on video recording equpiment so you will have to look that up for yourself.C U Next Saturday wrote: ↑Sun Aug 21, 2022 12:26 pmWhat video player did they have in 1930's????God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Sun Aug 21, 2022 11:30 amI agree, facts are great.MegaBonus wrote: ↑Sat Aug 20, 2022 9:15 am just a 10 sec google search destroyed your argument

Did they have tape in the 30's. I understand they had film but tape.God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Sun Aug 21, 2022 5:11 pmThe tape shows it though and the fact he was too scared to play.
As I said before, I'm not an expert on filmpgraphy but I would think they had tape.eagleboy wrote: ↑Sun Aug 21, 2022 5:54 pmDid they have tape in the 30's. The tape shows it though and the fact he was too scared to play.
No, the tape shows him running scared. He then refused to play in the first test and saw his average nearly halved.

maybe bradman could have been a bit braver too ! he still has the runs on the board the likes you will never see again and this history will continue to haunt you to the point you have to deflect to try and minimise his outstanding achievements.

refused to play then did play and still caned you afterwards. no helmets back then so i suppose all those wearing helmets now are cowards as they might get hit in the headGod is an Englishman wrote: ↑Tue Aug 23, 2022 4:32 pmJust Dave now wrote: ↑Tue Aug 23, 2022 2:02 pmmaybe bradman could have been a bit braver too ! he still has the runs on the board the likes you will never see again and this history will continue to haunt you to the point you have to deflect to try and minimise his outstanding achievements.
I have never played test cricket somof course he has more runs on the board than me.
A bit braver, he backed away and then refused to play. That's not needing to be "a bit braver" but nice try.
I've never worn a helmet to play cricket but I wouldn't call it cowardice to wear protective equipment that can save your life.Just Dave now wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 9:57 amrefused to play then did play and still caned you afterwards. no helmets back then so i suppose all those wearing helmets now are cowards as they might get hit in the headGod is an Englishman wrote: ↑Tue Aug 23, 2022 4:32 pmJust Dave now wrote: ↑Tue Aug 23, 2022 2:02 pmmaybe bradman could have been a bit braver too ! he still has the runs on the board the likes you will never see again and this history will continue to haunt you to the point you have to deflect to try and minimise his outstanding achievements.

so you admit a cricket ball constantly aimed at your head without a helmet can heighten the chances to kill you ?God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 10:16 amI've never worn a helmet to play cricket but I wouldn't call it cowardice to wear protective equipment that can save your life.Just Dave now wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 9:57 amrefused to play then did play and still caned you afterwards. no helmets back then so i suppose all those wearing helmets now are cowards as they might get hit in the headGod is an Englishman wrote: ↑Tue Aug 23, 2022 4:32 pmJust Dave now wrote: ↑Tue Aug 23, 2022 2:02 pmmaybe bradman could have been a bit braver too ! he still has the runs on the board the likes you will never see again and this history will continue to haunt you to the point you have to deflect to try and minimise his outstanding achievements.

Average halved due to his cowardice.
I would think that an argument might be there to show that wearing a helmet could increase the chances of you being killed by a cricket ball. I would be intrigued to hear the stats on this.Just Dave now wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 12:49 pmso you admit a cricket ball constantly aimed at your head without a helmet can heighten the chances to kill you ?God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 10:16 amI've never worn a helmet to play cricket but I wouldn't call it cowardice to wear protective equipment that can save your life.Just Dave now wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 9:57 amrefused to play then did play and still caned you afterwards. no helmets back then so i suppose all those wearing helmets now are cowards as they might get hit in the headGod is an Englishman wrote: ↑Tue Aug 23, 2022 4:32 pmJust Dave now wrote: ↑Tue Aug 23, 2022 2:02 pmmaybe bradman could have been a bit braver too ! he still has the runs on the board the likes you will never see again and this history will continue to haunt you to the point you have to deflect to try and minimise his outstanding achievements.

huh ? so why do you think all batsmen wear them albeit they often take them off for slow bowlers now and then ? not sure what stats you could use to prove that they were potentially more fatal than notGod is an Englishman wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 1:34 pmI would think that an argument might be there to show that wearing a helmet could increase the chances of you being killed by a cricket ball.
