Worst kept secret re: McCormack and Chris.

To Westies credit they kept their powder dry and retained the coaches until the end of the season who made the Cup Final and Semi.

Question is who will take over at WA? Big talk is with Steve Maxwell however, plum job.

Has there been any more news on the remaining WNPL coaching positions being filled?
I have heard Michael Matricciani has moved to coach Adelaide City Men..
Are FFSA, West and Metro all still looking?

I believe MM is confirmed at City - great opportunity for him but pity to lose him to the mens game so soon.

Be interesting to see who FFSA have take over the NTC role

After the losses of some experienced and highly credentialed coaches (some) to the WNPL, the league has seen the arrival of some new and a return of an old experienced hand.

For mine there are no surprises with Santrac being a welcome member to the WNPL coaching ranks. Welcome back and I look forward to your work with westies.

LA Stella takes the helm of the NTC and I reckon he's an excellent addition with him stepping up to the plate. Big shoes to fill however, he will prosper.

Calderbank too has big shoes and the weight of expectation on his shoulders. He will be eager to please the hierarchy at city who have a dynasty forming there. Somehow, Pezos will still be around just in case as was with Salisbury Inter having plan B in place this year.

Mansueto at Comets is interesting. This team/club has been building towards the WNPL and narrowly missed out promotion in 2018. Unlike Campbelltown in 2017, Comets are shown to be ready to roll and I expect its recruiting cheque book has been out in the off season.

Scalzi at Metro. Someone external to the club has arrived to take over from Marie who has moved to a coaching director’s role at Metro. Scalzi hails from Campbelltown and has pedigree during a distinguished playing career. Coaching has also been fruitful for him in the senior men’s and women’s teams at Campbelltown.

Jaric, Jenkins and Ebbs remain in place from season 2018. For mine expect big improvements from Uni and Salisbury with a settled side and coaching in place. Ebbs’ continued tenure at Fulham is interesting because Max made an appearance late in the year to sure up the team, bring in guns for hire to stave off relegation. Expect the same path if things go off the rails for Ebbs.

All in all we have some excellent coaching talent coming in to the WNPL in 2019. Although talent is one thing with coaching, it’s getting the right team on the park and with a solid pre-season to deliver results. There are many unknowns with this group because the top 3 teams in 2018 and 2017 and 2016 have new coaches.
