Not Nice Cyril - I won’t use the “V” word about him, but to paraphrase Jose, Not Nice The Gloater “likes to watch”.
Could there be a more prolific poster on the Arsenal thread?

“likes to watch Arsenal get flogged” would be very accurateCon M wrote:Not Nice Cyril - I won’t use the “V” word about him, but to paraphrase Jose, Not Nice The Gloater “likes to watch”.

Re: Arsenal 2017/2018
It’s over.
Nothing left to do but make the inevitable “mutual agreement” decision.
Fans are staying away, the players look as though they don’t care/given up and Wenger looks out of ideas as to how to fix it.
If you asked me to imagine the saddest possible situation for Wenger, I probably would have said a half-empty stadium watching his lifeless team being battered by a side playing the kind of football he was once known for.
By all means, give him until the end of the season. Let him see it out and get his congrats from all round.
But just announce it now that this is his last season and lets all move forward.
He should’ve gone out at the end of last season – it was perfect timing. Go out a winner with another FA Cup victory.
But the club weren’t properly prepared yet. And that’s on the Board and CE. They should’ve seen this coming 2-3 seasons ago.
But at least now they’ve put the proper people in place ready for a new Manager to come in.
I’ll still always love Wenger. What he did for Arsenal was one of a kind. Gave his life for the club.
But its over.

Was he watching?Arsene Wenger wrote:It's tough but it's explainable after what happened on Sunday and the consequences of the hype about our performance on Sunday and it hits you but I think the players put a pretty huge performance in today but unfortunately we had some weak defending.

The bits I saw in the second half City were playing with Arsenal and Arsenal were only applying passive pressure at best.
This game surely is the line in the sand for Wenger, he has had his time.

That is the only pity of this Manchester City performance: there were so few here to see it. This was the night Arsenal's chickens came home to roost, even if no-one else did. A stadium so deserted to begin with – the crowd figure was tickets sold, not bodies through the turnstiles – it was impossible to judge whether there was actually another walkout before the end, as there had been when these teams met at Wembley on Saturday.
It had the vibe of a testimonial for a particularly unpopular player, one who had stuck in a series of transfer requests, spent the last six months on strike, and been filmed half-cut in a nightclub, calling the fans morons.

Re: Arsenal 2017/2018
Scary thought but it was 30 years ago this week that Tony Adams first became Arsenal captain at 21. Some argue that the current squad are technically superior to Adams & Co. and in a very narrow sense that may be true. However what names would be the first on the team sheet for most gunners, especially in our current predicament.

I'm happy for Arsenal to put all their eggs in the EL basket at this stage
We wont make top 4, so lets do a Man U and just go all out to win EL
Its a European trophy, and gives us CL next year

yep 3 goo wins in a row. You can cement 6th place in the league with a decant finish.Con M wrote:A fair way to go still, but winning Europa = Champions League.
And now for a decent run home in the EPL.

I'm hoping they draw Atletico or CSKA, but I bet the arsey shiraz get one of the wank teams.

Nah, spelling expert New Name Not Needed. Chelsea on a downward spiral and Arsenal will be coming home on a wet sail. ps, do you forget Arsenal’s run home last season when your Liverpool only just pipped them for 4th spot?

Believe me no one was happy with that, the sheer bumbling ineptitude of it all from start to finish was just plain embarrassing. And an official a few feet away not seeing it and even no retrospective ban after the fact doesn’t exactly fill you with confidence for the future.Nice One Cyril wrote:

Got very lucky with two very debatable penalties.

You do like playing the ref card (based on comments in the last two days).
Why is half a day at home more tiring than a week at work?

In the second penalty a strong & blatant shove in the back of Lacazette.

First one the defender got his leg in front of the slow Ozil and the goggle eyed one kicked the back of the defenders leg, second one I grant you could have been a penalty, but it was almost shoulder to shoulder and I wouldn't have given it
Oh yes, forgot to ask, why were so many of your supposed fans dressed as seats?

Re: Arsenal 2017/2018
1st one legitimate tackle ref guessed and guessed wrong, nothing more to it. 2nd one penalty clear as day every day, stupid defending. Main point is we are cabernet. I reckon ozil gave the ball away about 20 times, I counted one period where he gave it away 5 times in a row under little pressure.
Some would say that empty seats have more personality than some of our newer fans at the emirates. Heard that the spuds will have the dearest tickets in the world at their new place next year, prepare yourself for the gentrification of the yid army.

N5 1BH, ignore the proven ageist Not Nice Cyril. What could the ref do when the defender is stretching out behind Özil? Yes touching the ball but upending his opponent as well. No VAR, so in the ref’s opinion penalty. Decision stands.N5 1BH wrote:1st one legitimate tackle ref guessed and guessed wrong, nothing more to it. 2nd one penalty clear as day every day, stupid defending. Main point is we are cabernet. Arsenal didn’t play well in the first half. But had one eye on meeting the Muscovites 4.35am Adelaide time, Friday 6 April in the Europa quarter final. Same with the missing fans. Goodbye Stoke.
IMO Arsenal will still come home with a wet sail and go close to pipping Chelsea for 5th spot.
Winning Europa is paramount off course.
