2017 Junior Cup
The preliminary round was drawn today 3rd April.
Anyone know the link where we can see the draw?

They haven't emailed the draw to clubs yet. They usually give clubs a few days to confirm kickoff times and venues firstSlide Tackle wrote:The preliminary round was drawn today 3rd April.

Think Metros run in the cup and league for that team will finally come to an end especially with the Sayee brothers no longer in that team.

Both teams are very different this year ....and its not about the 2 players mentioned at Metro. Feel sorry for those kids the past few years , great kids and very offensive to the other metro players who are outstanding . This Comets team has been developing slowly and its a big challenge for them to finally play in the JPLA league and have had 4-5 some players being pushed up so makes it even harder.

Re: 2017 Junior Cup
The U15 age group usually becomes a bit of a mess as players jump to U16's to fill gaps left to those who transitioned to U18's. This has happened to our U15's this season. Our four best U14's from the previous year jumped an age group straight to the U16's.ikon wrote:Both teams are very different this year ....and its not about the 2 players mentioned at Metro. Thats all part of youth development, at this age group the more complete and developed players should be aiming to play at a higher level.Pie and Bovril wrote:The U15 age group usually becomes a bit of a mess as players jump to U16's to fill gaps left to those who transitioned to U18's. I get that, I'm just saying that the U13' and U14's seem to stay together but teams get disbanded at U15's.Slide Tackle wrote:Thats all part of youth development, at this age group the more complete and developed players should be aiming to play at a higher level.Pie and Bovril wrote:The U15 age group usually becomes a bit of a mess as players jump to U16's to fill gaps left to those who transitioned to U18's. Metrostars U16's have a bye which means they can play for U15's and then play for U16's in round 1Chocco wrote:Who says the sayee brothers where not playing in the 15s?

That is really not going with the spirit of the game, what about the players normally in that 15's squad do they get lees game time because of it? So if clubs do things like this what is stopping them swapping their jsl/jpl squads if it creates an easier path to guarantee a win first round?
In my opinion, if a player has played most of their time in the current season in a 16 squad then they should really play for the u16 for the cup.

Re: 2017 Junior Cup
they will still play U16's but just help the U15's navigate past Comets first.Chocco wrote:Metrostars U16's have a bye which means they can play for U15's and then play for U16's in round 1Pie and Bovril wrote:Chocco wrote:Who says the sayee brothers where not playing in the 15s?

So many players away due to holidays means clubs will be moving players around without thinking about the rules

Re: 2017 Junior Cup
you can only play for one team at the same age group so once a player plays for the JSL team he can't then play for JPL. You can only have four JPL players playing JSL in one week anywayChocco wrote:Metrostars U16's have a bye which means they can play for U15's and then play for U16's in round 1Pie and Bovril wrote:Chocco wrote:Who says the sayee brothers where not playing in the 15s?

Re: 2017 Junior Cup
That's a desperate decision by Metro. They have plenty of players.
Not in the spirit of fair play or good sportsmanship.

Pitty Metro won, fitting that a Sayee scored the winner, will do wonders for his confidence scoring a goal for a younger team than he usually plays for.
Well done Metro, keep with the spirit of the game

I see Paralowie Eagles in the U/15's JSL beat White City JPL.
Well done on the JSL side.

Re: 2017 Junior Cup
Paralowie should be in JPL B (Junior League Division 2) on that form and not in the JSL.Redflag1 wrote:I see Paralowie Eagles in the U/15's JSL beat White City JPL.

The JSL is not conducive to the best competition for all teams.
Get rid of JSL.

Paralowie would probably be competitive in JPL A.Slide Tackle wrote:Paralowie should be playing E&Dfball12 wrote:Paralowie should be in JPL B (Junior League Division 2) on that form and not in the JSL.Redflag1 wrote:I see Paralowie Eagles in the U/15's JSL beat White City JPL.

And I'm not from Paralowie.
JSL makes no sense. Teams should play in the competition aligned to their ability.
