Australia's fourth and fifth wicket looked very similar. Atrocious batting.

Likely all over by lunchtime on day three (Actual playing days that is.)
A five test series would have been so much fun - especially if Steyn and De Villiers were playing

We should invite Bangladesh next summer to even things up a bit.
Spewing as I have a corporate box spot lined up for the Adelaide Oval test, but not until the Sunday - hope it ain't over by then!

Re: Aus v Sth Africa
Complete debacle - some of our batsman showed a real lack of simple technique.
Easy to bat on flat decks against listless attacks, but as soon as there's a pitch with a bit of movement and good quality bowling, we completely fall to pieces.
I wasn't overly impressed with our bowlers either - not consistently hitting the right lengths at all.
The Saffers showed that you don't have to be the quickest but if you put it in the right areas, and are able to move the ball of the wicket, you can be ultra effective.

This one would have been a draw then, it ended on day 4.

I don't think its because we lost and lost badly but the general care factor for test cricket is -0.......

I agree, it's not like Australians are renowned for only caring when their teams are winningMegaBonus wrote:I don't think its because we lost and lost badly but the general care factor for test cricket is -0.......

Had Australia been flogging South Africa I am sure the care factor would have increased 1000%MegaBonus wrote:I don't think its because we lost and lost badly but the general care factor for test cricket is -0.......

Re: Aus v Sth Africa
I care a bit. But in days gone by I always remember us going down with a fight when the chips were down. This lot (as have been the last year or two) simply don't know how to play test cricket any more and at least go down fighting.
Need 5 changes minimum in short term, as well as a review on coaching, selection, strategies (resting players, build up to a series etc).
Might be a blessing, who knows.

Re: Aus v Sth Africa
Faf, I understand the mint thing is a bit of a storm in a teacup, but tv shows you clearly using it to shine the pill and the ICC found you guilty. How you can try and appeal your match fee now is quite laughable. Hansie Cronje had more credibility!
