Re: England......Celebrating 50 Years Of Cheating!!!!
Firstly it loses credibility with it's score syntax and secondly the linesman was not Russian. I'd never heard of a handball dispute before but they weren't denied a winning goal, that goal was the equaliser and it stood. The infamous hurst goal never crossed the line. However, you can't accuse a team of cheating because officials got it wrong.

i'll take both attempts at humour as an admission of either incompetent officiating handing the host country a win or corruption of the highest order...

Re: England......Celebrating 50 Years Of Cheating!!!!
the following is not German propoganda....unless the English and Germans are one and the same...
Hawksey...whats your opinion of Maradona and the Hand of God???Modern studies using film analysis and computer simulation show that the ball never crossed the line – both Duncan Gillies of the Visual Information Processing Group at Imperial College London and Ian Reid and Andrew Zisserman of the Department of Engineering Science at University of Oxford agree that the ball would have needed to travel a further 2.5–6.0 cm to fully cross the line, and that therefore it was not a goal.[10]

There's a difference between deliberately breaking the rules to gain an advantage and being the benefactor of a error by the officials.MegaBonus wrote:is that because he falsely claimed something that wasnt????

Re: England......Celebrating 50 Years Of Cheating!!!!
You have to do it knowingly to cheat. Martin Peters was the closest and as long as he believes it was over the line then he's not cheating.MegaBonus wrote:anyone of them that claimed a goal that wasnt......a little like Henry and maradona....God is an Englishman

Re: England......Celebrating 50 Years Of Cheating!!!!
what if maradona and Henry acted subconsciously/instinctively with no thought behind their decision???
what peters believes and what he says are two different things.......he knew it didn't cross and but acted as if it did to convince the officials....cheating!!!

Re: England......Celebrating 50 Years Of Cheating!!!!
Can you provide some back up that he knew it didn't cross the line? I've watched it MANY times and can't be 100% sure. The picture seem to favour the ball being over the line though.MegaBonus wrote:what if maradona and Henry acted subconsciously/instinctively with no thought behind their decision???

Yes, I'm sure henry and maradona didn't know they had stuck their arms out and hit the ball.
