So, does this now mean Australia backed the right horse? We're one of the minority who can claim we weren't just greasing Blatter's palm.
As for squeaky clean England getting control of FIFA .... first President should be Harry Rednapp.

You're right, Chisato. They did have that most successful 1994 tournament with huge crowds, good scoring rate, the motivation of 3 points for a win in the Group stages for the first time and dishing out red cards for denying obvious scoring opportunities. Only the World Cup Final was ruined by that 0-0 draw by 2 idiot managers who forgot that entertaining the 100,000 @ the Rose Bowl and a World-wide TV audience was also part of the deal.
FYI Mexico hosted the 1970 World Cup and also the 1986 World Cup after Colombia was stripped of hosting rights for obvious reasons.

Still would prefer it to go to somewhere new, provided that nation has previously qualified for the tournament.

Re: FIFA corruption ?
No country or block of countries should have control of FIFA. However it's patently ridiculous to give the same voting power to miniscule footballing nations, where oversight is minimal or non-existant, as the main countries.otto62 wrote:So, does this now mean Australia backed the right horse? Re: FIFA corruption ?
Well England were the ones who have pushed the most for Blatter to go. They campaigned to have the vote postponed 4 years ago when the last corruption came out. Then they abstained on the vote as they refused to vote for Blatter.otto62 wrote:So, does this now mean Australia backed the right horse?
