Re: Interesting Read
Very interesting.
I personally believe that the FFA & FFSA should get out of player Development & Elite programs & get back to their core responsibility - developing and growing the game & clubs.
What's the point of taking money from the sport & investing it in player development, while the local grass root clubs struggle to fund their own player development?
Want to develop players? Bring down the cost of coaching licences. Give clubs access to funding to hire full time technical coaches in each age group, including an overseer. Let each club have it's own elite squad - U18, Reserves & Seniors.
The only state based squads should be State teams; to compete on the National stage so that we can assess the development of each state football system. And A-League club youth squads. All the other stuff from FFSA is a waste of our valuable dollars and resources.
The FFA & FFSA need to change their priority - help clubs develop, show club administrators how to grow, give funding to their coaches to get there $1500+ licences, give players a professional atmosphere to play for.

And Australian coaches still look for left footed left backs, instead of the more gifted left and right footed player
Good read.
Good read.

I agree with JohnyD and the interview is close to what i have witnessed here in SA. I know that Gombau didnt like what he saw...makes me wonder wether the new Adelaide United Soccer School will be any different.

This is and always has been an issue under the current 'jobs for the mates' regime.

Adelaide United academy is $795 for 20 sessions, so about $40 for an hour and half session..

Excellent post, I agree with all of the above.

Develop club first game second. FFA/FFSA should be game first, development will come with strong club backing.soccer_2015 wrote:so what's the motivation of Gombau and AU?black wrote:Cruyff wrote: Different motivation for Gombau and AU.
