Good wins by England and Rumania, nice upset by Albania away to Portugal and nice work by Poland to win 7-0 away from home, albeit to Gibraltar?? When did they let them in?

I think the Poles were let in to UEFA in 1955Bomber wrote:No comments to date.

Gibraltar trying to break away from British rule, similar to what Scotland is voting on in the 18 September referendum about independence, I sort of believe...Bomber wrote:No comments to date.

Don't know where you got that one from. Under the Treaty of Utrecht, Gibraltar belongs solely to the British and any form of independence would need to be ratified by Spain, something they would never do since they claim sovereignty. As a side note, it's somewhat hypocritical of the Spanish to claim sovereignty over Gib, whilst at the same time denying independence to Catalunya.Con M wrote:Gibraltar trying to break away from British rule, similar to what Scotland is voting on in the 18 September referendum about independence, I sort of believe...Bomber wrote:No comments to date.

On the subject of football, a good win by England, but those who are claiming Welbeck as some sort of striking hero need their eyes tested. Whilst I understand that strikers can only score if they're in the right place, he ran around like a headless chook for most of the game, mucked up the easiest pass of the night to Sterling, shinned his first goal and had a virtual gift for the second.
Sterling on the other hand, looked quality.

It's a well established scientific fact that the bottom feeding, incredibly dumb, but not so elusive Goonerfish, is the easiest to catch.haywood djablowme wrote:You Spuds r all the sameNice One Cyril wrote: Don't know where you got that one from. So how many divs in the Gibraltan league? Imagine, being virtually (a part of) world champions one minute, absolute rabble the next.Old Master wrote:Heard on the BBC World Service that Gibraltar had only just been approved last month to enter the European qualifiers after the objections from Spain were finally dismissed by EUFA's & FIFA's hierarchy.
The 442 with a diamond made the attacking side look better than in Brazil.Nice One Cyril wrote:Don't know where you got that one from. In fairness these players were as much part of the World Champions as you/we are the Socceroos.Bomber wrote:So how many divs in the Gibraltan league? Why would you play a creative dynamic player like him in that role when you have workhorses like Henderson and Milner?ozzie owl wrote:Other question is whether Wilshire can play DM?
I agree what about Carrick and Barry both better suited than Wlishire for the role?Old Redback wrote:Why would you play a creative dynamic player like him in that role when you have workhorses like Henderson and Milner?ozzie owl wrote:Other question is whether Wilshire can play DM?

How were they ever part of world champions? Unfortunately, been quite a few years since they could claim that.
When their players were eligible to play for them. Well, I was told such anyway. Incorrect?God is an Englishman wrote:When was Gibraltar part of Spain?
Possibly, because fifa have no balls they were probably eligible for Spain and all 4 UK countries.Bomber wrote:When their players were eligible to play for them. Well, I was told such anyway. Incorrect?God is an Englishman wrote:When was Gibraltar part of Spain?
