Re: Player of the year predictions?
Asking us to determine what the referees saw in players is as hard as us trying to determine how referees interpret the LOTG.Dinho wrote:Any prediction on divisional Player of the Year?

Chief is always popular
Noel works damn hard
Lindsay has that little bit of class
Westers leads by example
Williams always steps up in big games

That's why it's called 'prediction', same as predicting who wins against who before the game is being played.Ctrl-Alt-Del wrote:Asking us to determine what the referees saw in players is as hard as us trying to determine how referees interpret the LOTG.Dinho wrote:Any prediction on divisional Player of the Year?

Noel works damn hard - Edmonds?
Lindsay has that little bit of class - outstanding talent but possibly more commanding last season?
Westers leads by example - the way he carries on, is that really an example? Outstanding player but would probably need to be a bit more level headed?
Williams always steps up in big games - what 'big" games?
....... Anyone can win it......but they'll probably give it to Ebomo anyway

I agree, I much prefer to make predictions once results are known, far easierCtrl-Alt-Del wrote:Asking us to determine what the referees saw in players is as hard as us trying to determine how referees interpret the LOTG.Dinho wrote:Any prediction on divisional Player of the Year?

Sat Div 1 - that bloke from BOSA. Or Sturt. Or maybe Iggies.
Call me insane, but I really don't care to find out the names of the opposition when I play.

I think a few of you might be missing the point I was making.Knight15 wrote:I agree, I much prefer to make predictions once results are known, far easierCtrl-Alt-Del wrote:Asking us to determine what the referees saw in players is as hard as us trying to determine how referees interpret the LOTG.Dinho wrote:Any prediction on divisional Player of the Year?
Each uf us might know who WE consider might have been the best player in the League, based on the two times we might have seen opposition players.
That aside, it is up to the referees to choose 3 players THEY thought was best on the park for the games THEY refereed.
My point therefore was, based on some of the interpretations they have made about the laws of the game, how are we to know what the referees are looking for as a 'best player' ? Is it the one that has the right coloured skins underneath, right coloured socks and matching tape, the one that questions least (or more in Ebomo's case) ?
Based on previous years it will most likely be a midfield player who is around the referees a lot and talks to the referees a lot during the game and someone with a high SAASL profile that they might remember after the game.

Goalkeepers never win it but Anthony Ivanoff has been outstanding for Fulham this year.

Hope that's not your Sun A's keeper ..??bigpond wrote:Goalkeepers never win it but Anthony Ivanoff has been outstanding for Fulham this year.
He has let the 3rd most goals in behind Pontians & Vales keeper with a game still to play ..??

6 against in last 5 games - has made a number of crucial saves in those 5 games to win us games.
If stats were kept I'm sure he would be up there with most shots on target saved.
Re: Player of the year predictions?
So he should, your team would rate highly in most shots against so you'd hop he'd save some.... Lol
If Chief wins it then it would be deserved, Goulding , Scoota, Brain, Crowl, Pearce , if he can out poll them then he deserves the accolade.

Re: Player of the year predictions?
"out polling" is not necessarily the same as deserving. Anyone remember Shane Woewodin?T

JJ is a very, very good player, could be a surprise for the award this year.Numba 7 wrote:Ive always been a big fan of the centre midfielder with the tattoos from ingle farm. I don't know his name but has always been impressive when ive seen him play
You would think Chief has a bit of competition from his own peers in gaining the votes but in the past it hasnt worked against him. Matt Centrone, if he played more games would of polled well. Cocksy, Lindsay & Westal from the Vale will be up there.
Trimmers is my pick thou.
Good luck to all invited

Not the players fault that Daddy run on the pitch to protect his son who started all the crap and then go around threatening people after the game.
I hope Angus polls well..

As with any player, if they want to go to Feds they will get our support.
At this stage I don't think Ducker wants to commit to a Feds schedule but that may change.
All of our players have said they'd like to stay on , we will sit and talk once our season is completed.
