Re: Wenger chasing Spanish Superstar
Once Liverpool are open to offers, they will come thick & fast and I doubt if Arsenal would be the most attractive suitor.
Watch out for Mourinho if he cant land Rooney, otherwise Madrid.

Re: Wenger chasing Spanish Superstar
He is already available for offers, Liverpool just holding out for more money. If Bale goes to Madrid no way will they go for him.

Also i highly doubt Mourinho wants to sign someone who bit his defenders arm off.

Further quote from LuisIan_Wright wrote:Just to back up my point.....
"Last year I had the opportunity to move to a big European club and I stayed on the understanding that if we failed to qualify for the Champions League the following season I'd be allowed to go," he said.
"I gave absolutely everything last season but it was not enough to give us a top-four finish - now all I want is for Liverpool to honour our agreement."
Luis Suarez 2013
'I gave absolutely everything last season but it was not enough to give us a top-four finish - now all I want is for Liverpool to honour our agreement,' said Suarez.
'I have the club's word and we have the written contract and we are happy to take this to the Premier League for them to decide the case but I do not want it to come to that.
'I'm 26. I need to be playing in the Champions League. I waited one year and no one can say that I did not give everything possible with my team-mates last season to get us there.'
Suarez insists there is a clause in his contract that means Liverpool must sell if a club bids over £40million, which Arsenal did two weeks ago when they offered £40,000,001. Liverpool instantly rejected that but Suarez says they were in the wrong to do so.
'I don't feel betrayed (by Liverpool) but the club promised me something a year ago just as I promised them that I would stay and try everything possible to get us into the Champions League,' he said.
'They gave me their word a year ago and now I want them to honour that. And it is not just something verbal with the coach but something that is written in the contract. I'm not going to another club to hurt Liverpool.'

Re: Wenger chasing Spanish Superstar
Bit of a strange one this. He's too good for Arsenal but it doesn't look like anyone else will come in with an offer of 50,000,000 that Liverpool obviously want.
He probably is better off staying at Liverpool for another season and waiting for a club with a decent team to come in for him but he's probably burnt his bridges now.
However, the step up from Liverpool to Arsenal might only be a small one now, but with him playing for the opposite team that step between the teams becomes vast. His chances of winning trophies will be massively increased playing for the Gunners than if he was still at Anfield.

Your fishing is poor this pre season.
Last time I looked, Liverpool have won many trophies since Arsenal last did. Isn't it 4000 days very soon for them?

Although we have won the CL and been in another final since you won a trophy - no?
Anyhow, I vowed to not lower myself to all this banal banter...

Re: Wenger chasing Spanish Superstar
I genuinely wasn't fishing. At the moment there's nothing much between the two squads, with both having next to no chance of winning anything for years. However, if Suarez was to join Arsenal, they would have a very, very good team and Liverpool would be a lot worse than they are now. I don't think he will end up there though.NickyTanner wrote:Jimbob wrote:Bit of a strange one this. Not so sure about it now the septic has come out and said not. Or maybe he's just driving the price up, which will put the Goons out of the running anyway.Ian_Wright wrote:He will still leave, he will force his way out.

It just seems past the point of repair now that Suarez has spoken to the media. What ever club it is, i think the damage is done and he will leave.
As you said i think the Yank is just playing games and trying to push up the price.

Henry said exactly the same thing about about selling Torres.
Arsenal just sold Gervinho for 8 mill, they need to stack that on the bid.

Why any club would pay that much for a headache is beyond me. He has a history of throwing his toys out of the pram, he even took legal action to force his way into Ajax.
