Saw Beach defeat Blue Eagles yesterday 2-0 (Reserves 5 or 6 - 0) at Marden.

Beach were, as most have said earlier, steady, organised and focussed. Gradually unpicked Blue Eagles and put them away. Blue eagles showed that, if they can resist relying on a couple of very good players in particular, they will be around the mark next season.

The pitch was a disgrace, being an outside training ground because the FFSA Finals were being played inside the main ground. It also meant that it was impossible to use the changerooms and showers with the Carabinieri guarding entry points to deter any unsuspecting Amateurs. Very poor.

Beach's Div 7 (C's) also grabbed some champions silverware, but were not helped by mid-table Ingle Farms's decision to forfeit their last game. The resultant 2-0 left the door open for Para Hills West to "augment" their C's........ which they did, and clattered a number past Florina that almost nicked the championship for them. What did someone say about "the spirit of the game" ? And, perhaps Mr Jay would be choking on a yiros if the situation was reversed......

It was unfortunate scheduling.

Nice slap in the face though from you to the many volunteers who spent 10 hours at Marden yesterday from 8am to 6pm making sure all the junior, FFSA and amateur games went ahead.

Don't know if your associated with Beach or not, but obviously like most amateur teams the only thing you could organise would be a piss up in brewery.

Just to clarify something here, with the way the schedule was done this year for Div 7, not one team hasn't "augmented" their team at one point? Maco's beat Imvros 8-2 a few weeks back and then lost 14-1 the week after to Beach and then forfeited their match against us for example. Or when the As and Bs had the bye and we needed to get some game time into our fringe first team players, they played Cs.

Yes PHW had a few extra's yesterday but we had them at 3-2 at half time and we dropped the ball badly in the second half.

Sorry mate, we were disappointed but its the first game we've forfeited and we've had 3 games forfeited against us. Our kids have played games with only 9 or 10 players at some stages through out the year but this week, only 5 were available. The A's and B's had players out which meant the C's were thin and not able to drop some players down. If the game was at our ground, we could of had some B's and C's play two games but the distance didn't allow us to do that. Very sorry and very glad you deservedly won the league.

Blue eagles knew the pitch was a disgrace, they could have easily had the game played at west beach.

You won the Div 2 Sunday amateurs. You're not that special.

Try whingeing as a sport, you'd probably win gold.
