They can make do or they can shiraz off !!

Torres not there based on minutes played you would think

Marchisio was good for Italy, though he would be around the mark

Ibra is a joke selection surely, and maybe this could make balotelli grow up?

Gerrard was by far England's best player. Why wouldn't he be in the team?

And I'd have put Torres into the team ahead of Ibra.
i didnt think being the best player in your team automatically made u one of the best in the whole tournament

• No European Championship finals has ever seen more headed goals (22).
• Spain are the first team to successfully defend their European Championship title and are the first European side to win three consecutive major tournaments.
• Iker Casillas equalled Edwin van der Sar's record for clean sheets at the Euros (nine).
• Spain averaged 681.6 passes per 90 minutes at Euro 2012, over 100 more than they did at the 2010 World Cup (588) and the most by a team in the history of the European Championship since 1980 (Germany 555 in 2012).
• There were 910 passes per game at Euro 2012, 109 more than any other tournament (1980-2012).
• Spain have not conceded a single goal in their last 990 minutes of action in major tournament knockout games, a streak which started in the quarter finals of Euro 2008.
• Spain have had more possession than their opponents in 61 games since the final of Euro 2008.
- Andrés Iniesta has had more shots on target without scoring than any other player in the history of the European Championship (11).
• Against Portugal, Xavi overtook Zidane (843) as the player to have made most passes in the history of the European Championship (949).
• Mario Balotelli was the first Italy player to score three goals in a European Championship tournament.
• This was the first time no player scored more than three goals at the European Championship since 1992.
• There has never been a European Championship or World Cup with more than six joint-top scorers (six players were on four at the 1962 World Cup).
• There have been an average of 21.7 shots (excluding blocked) per game at Euro 2012, the fewest in a Euro finals since 1996 (21.4).
• Spain conceded just one goal as they won the tournament, fewer than any winner since 1980 (when the format changed).
• There have been more doubles at Euro 2012 (9) than at any previous edition of the European Championship finals.
• Ten of the 16 shots on target Spain conceded at Euro 2012 were against Italy.
• The 2012 final was the biggest win by a side in a European Championship or World Cup final (4-0).
• Fernando Torres is the only player to have scored in two European Championship finals.
• Xavi has assisted only three goals at European Championship – all in the final.
• Vicente del Bosque is only the second manager to win the World Cup and the Euros (after Helmut Schoen).
• Del Bosque is the first manager to have managed a team to victory in the World Cup, European Championship and Champions League.
• Five of the past seven host nations have exited the European Championship at the group stage (including each of the last four co-hosts – Austria & Switzerland in 2008 and Poland & Ukraine in 2012).
• Cristiano Ronaldo hit the woodwork four times at Euro 2012, no other player has ever hit the goal frame more in European Championship history (tournaments combined).
• Ronaldo has had a total of 70 shots from outside the box at major tournaments, but has never scored from distance.
• Italy attempted 36 shots (including blocked) in their quarter-final tie against England. No side has ever managed more without scoring in Euro Championship finals history.
• Spain managed 75.9% possession in their group game against the Republic of Ireland – the highest possession figure seen in a European Championship match since 1980.
• In that same game, the Spanish set more records; making 860 passes and completing a record 788 v the Republic of Ireland – numbers never seen before in European Championship finals.
• Xavi made 136 passes and completed 127 of those in the game against Ireland – also a European Championship finals record.
• Portugal and Germany equalled Holland as the only sides to have made it through the group stages six times at the Euros.
• Portugal have now made it to the knockout stages of the European Championship finals every time they have been present (six times).
• Only two of the nine teams to previously win all of their Euro group games have gone on to win the tournament (France 84 & Spain 08).
• Poland were only the second host nation to fail to win a group stage match at the Euros (after Austria in 2008).
Giorgos Karagounis has picked up eight yellow cards in only 10 appearances at the European Championship, more than any other player.
• Alexander Kerzhakov had 14 shots at Euro 2012, but not a single one was on target.
• Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Helder Postiga joined Nuno Gomes, Thierry Henry, Vladimir Smicer and Jurgen Klinsmann as players to have scored at three different European Championship finals.
• Cristiano Ronaldo attempted a total of 12 shots against Holland, the most by a single player in a single game in Euro finals (1980-2012).
• Holland failed to win a group stage game at the Euros for the first time.
• Ireland ended their group having conceded nine goals, only Yugoslavia in 1984 let in more in the group stages (10).
• Ireland were the 10th team to end the Euro group stage with no points (second in 2012 after Holland).
• Ireland's goal difference of minus 8 is the joint-worst in Euro group history.
• Wayne Rooney ended a run of 673 minutes without a goal at major tournaments when he scored against Ukraine.
• England won six games 1-0 in 2011-12, they had never previously won more than four by this scoreline in a single season.
• Four of England's five goals at Euro 2012 came from crosses.
• Only Michel Platini (nine) and Alan Shearer (seven) have ever scored more goals than Ibrahimovic (six) at the Euro finals.
• This was the fourth time in the last seven editions that the final of the Euros was between two sides who met in the group stages.
• Spain were the second European side to reach the final of three consecutive major tournaments, after West Germany (Euro 72, World Cup 74, Euro 76).
• Italy have never scored more than two goals in a European Championship game (33 games)
• Spain have reached the final on all five occasions that they have played a semi-final at a major tournament.
• Portugal have played six semi-finals at Euros and World Cups, but reached just one final.
• Przemyslaw Tyton became the first substitute goalkeeper to save a penalty at the European Championship.

The perfect collection of brilliant individuals. Not sure they could play as a team.

Now that it's all done and dusted, how would you rate Euro 2012? Personally I thought it was a great tournament, not as good as Euro 2000 (which is the best I've seen) but one to be remembered.

It was the same as all the others, 96 is the only one I've ever got excited about.

Only euro tournament I been to...but yes, some faaaaaarken great memories there. 200 Cro's making more noise than 20,000 turks after Vlaovic's last minute winner v Turkey...Suker's chip over Schmeichel...aussie Cro's punching on with the BBB and being kicked out v portugal. Qtr final v germany at Old Trafford...and the women of Nottingham, sensational.

WC in Japan wasn't bad either, in particular the night after we beat Italy.

Did anyone actually see Ibra play?
This is far from a "joke" selection. He was actaully very good, regardless of the fact he only scored twice he was also a creative force for Sweden.
Actually suprised me as he never looks like he gives a shiraz when playing for the NT.

nottingham has long held the rumour of having 4 women to every 1 man during uni terms. Not sure how true it is but it was probably started by Nottingham University.

Word on the street when I was there was that it was closer to a 6:1 ratio...blokes like me need those types of odds to succeed!

All I know is there was plenty of them around ready to party and Croat supporters with an aussie accent was kind of a novelty for them...and good for us!
