pure frustration...

Post by think quick »

There has been so much crap about Drago on the forum lately..yes he is a good coach (his "players" that have gone on to bigger and better things reflect that), those he leaves behind...for whatever reason or another (only those players or parents will know..probably true, but the reasons are not normally spoken out loud...but known deep down...it only takes someone with courage to say it...the sad thing is, if they listen/act/improve/dont take it personally, they could be one of those moving on to bigger and better things...)
BUT in junior soccer one ot the most frustrating thing is players who get recognition and elevation for no other reason than their name or who their father is/position held in the club/was/could have been...there are lots of those around... :(
No wonder Australian soccer isnt going anywhere...and wont go anywhere fast. Talent isnt necessarily the "show ponies" who more than often stuff up, but the hard workers who are consistant..week in, week out, regardless of the opposition or scoreline. They may not be flamboyant in their play, or captains because of how many relatives or mates in the team, but are relyable and are the under-stated and under-estimated leaders of the team. There are more of those players around, if only they were acknowledged, :)

His track record of being booted out of every club he has been too speaks for itself.
For Drago...it's all about Drago.

Drago was not the point...the point is the frustration of players who get elevated/acknowledged on their fathers position. There are plenty of talented fathers who choose to stand back. They have probably proved themselves and are content as a person. It is those who did not/could not succeed as a good player who push themselves into positions to advance their children as players whether they deserve it or not. Its much like a person who succeeds in business, the fine line is to either "treat" their children and give them gifts, or "spoil" their children with gifts....if not handled correctly, the child will either end up a spoilt brat or a good person who will go on and succeed themselves....it all depends on the teacher (dad). :)

Haven't had much to do with Drago apart from seeing him coach a couple of years ago. He is very passionate about what he does. no doubt. An in my opinion he is one that will sort the wheat from the chaff.

As they say when investing: "Too many Mum and Dad Investors (Wanna-be Coaches)"

Drago is a great coach who does not "sugar coat" it!

from what I hear Drago uses the time recruiting players to white city, unfortunately players talk and from multiple clubs. So are coaches in theWest nominating for future FFA players or White City?
