IMO if we don't cruise through this qualification (except for a couple of tight games with Japan) then we don't deserve to go to Brazil as we will only be making up the numbers again. May as well let a nation that hasn't been there before do that. If we cruise through then it gives us hope the squad is up to a WC standard, Holger's tactics are decent and we stand a decent chance of going through to the next round. Which IMO is a must for Australian football. We must keep moving forward. Raising the bar. If we go to Brazil and bomb out we may as we have sent the U23 squad there. They are used to it!

Some good points - especially the ones about if you don't then you don't deserve to be there - never a truer word.

Personally I hope Australia doesn't qualify I don't think they are good enough but the upside if they do is that there will be better coverage of the teams that deserve to be there like Costa Rica and NZ.
