With the 2007 AFC Asian Cup draw now completed, there has been strong interest from Football Family members concerning ticketing arrangements for this prestigious event.
The FFA is continuing to work with the Asian Football Confederation and the tournament organisers to understand the ticketing process for the competition.
At this stage the planning of ticketing arrangements are very much in the early stages largely due to the fact that tournament is being played across four countries (Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam).
Important Clarification
Some Football Family members recently may have received a newsletter communication from The Fanatics, sent inappropriately, and without FFA knowledge or consent, under the “FFA Travel†banner. The newsletter addressed ticketing and travel arrangements for the AFC Asian Cup and the Women’s World Cup. It went on to seek travel and tour preferences. Neither of these events is under the FFA’s jurisdiction, nor, at this stage, has the FFA’s status or potential role – particularly in terms of tickets or travel – been determined. At this stage the Fanatics and FFA Travel have no official role or relationship to these events.
FFA remains committed to providing the best available information concerning the Asian Cup to the Football Family. However, as has been stated previously, FFA is dependent on the AFC and the tournament organisers for this information. Given that FFA has neither control over, nor at this time information related to, ticketing for the competition, it is likely that FFA’s facilitation of the Football Family’s access to tickets will be limited to the provision of the best possible information as soon as it becomes available to FFA. Be sure to visit http://www.footballaustralia.com.au, as only accurate, reliable information sourced directly and officially from the AFC and the event organisers will be published there.
