Coppa Italia
Disappointing way to end a pretty perfect season, credit to Napoli seemed to want it more and battled for what it was...a final. Juve on the other hand looked a little punch drunk and only stepped it up a gear after going one down. I think Conte got it all wrong with his personel, starting Borriello and Del Piero up front showed that we lacked ambition for the game, Vucinic has been our best player in recent weeks, yet he rode the pine? Delps should have been brought on as super sub and Borriello should never get anywhere near a Juve shirt again.
As it stood the formations were equal it came down to who was gonna win their position and Napoli did that more. Was very impressed with their midfield trio Inler Dzemiali and Hamsik, thought that was what won it for them, their back line was pretty solid, although it's not hard to mark an ageing Delps and Borriello, who has the mobility of a light pole. As for the goals, Napoli's penalty was clear cut, thought Marchisio had a fair shout for a pen when Aronica slid in from behind, maybe cos he got his shot off the ref didn't notice. As for the second was always going to happen as we pushed forward more, but none the less well taken.

Credit to Napoli who were the better side. They were hungrier throughout and deserved the victory. They are also the worst team to concede the lead to and the second goal demonstrates why.
Worst thing about Conte is how long he takes to make subs, should have made one well before he did, Napoli goal or not. A change was warranted.
Would have been nice to walk away with the trophy but no Juventus fan can complain - not there on the day but we've had much to celebrate in the preceding months. Now is the worst part, for this is the end of Del Piero. That is going to feel weird tomorrow and in the months to come.

Re: Coppa Italia
Certainly thought we did want it more. Last time we won that trophy, or any major trophy for that matter, it was hoisted by his greatness, Diego in 1987.
Really happy for Mazzarri. cops a lot of flack because at times he is a little inflexible with his formation, but he is a great tactician and deserves a major trophy. For the players, they have all been dedicated to the project since they came on board, some earlier than others.
To Cannavaro, he came back when we were in Serie B for a dismal amount of money and no one deserved the win more than him or................. De Laurentiis. Has helped us rise like the Phoenix from the ashes, nowhere 10 years ago, a trophy now in the cabinet and the right to play the Super Coppa next season.
He needs to be smart where we invest for players - replace Lavezzi if he goes, another two centre backs and left mid/back would be great.
Anyway, wrapped today, 5 years ago I couldnt have dreamed of this win!!
Vaco Pazzo ppe te!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally, Del Piero, good luck, a legend of football and Italian football, true gent and superstar.

Re: Coppa Italia
Oh and to Fabio Quagliarella, you poor boy from Castellamare, who kissed and kissed and kissed our shirt when we almost broke the bank to get you to the San Paolo, GO AND GET FUCKE*D.
Take that Scudetto, which I might add was richly deserved by your team mates (you played about 4 f*uckin*g minutes in it you degenerate) and f*ucking stick it up your ar*se.
Piece of shit, I'm glad Mazzarri got rid of you now. You were a cancer in the side crying because you did not get the plaudits like Cannavaro and Hamsik and Campagnaro. Those guys bleed for the shirt. You came, took the money and when an offer looked good and you may have thought you would actually have to fight for your spot, you were on the first Vespa to Turin.
FU*ck off.

Whilst I'm not excusing Quags for the elbow (no player should ever lash out like that regardless of the attention you recieve) Aronica should have been pulled up before that, at the very least the ref should have stopped the corner and had a chat, he obviuosly was looking straight at them cos he saw the elbow straight away, you shouldn't be able to have your arm across a players neck under any circumstances. Nesta had a penalty given against him for far less contact against Barcelona.
I can understand your hatred towards Quags for the manner in which he departed, however I felt there was always a little bit more to it than just petulance, however I'm speaking from the outisde looking in.

No drama with that regarding Aronica, Quagliarella bit back and was dumb. Always the retaliator copping it and Aronica can get f*ucked too he is a hack. Poor Fernandez sitting on the bench - its a f*ucking travesty.
However, all Fabio wants people to know is how he was hard done by etc etc etc.
fact is this - We wanted Cavani, Quagliarella could have stayed, he saw that maybe he would actually have to fight for his spot. De Laurentiis spent 17 million on him and whilst I thought he did ok in that season, as soon as it looked like getting tough, he legged it, NOT the other way around.
So now, he can eat sfogliatelle full of sh*it, keep his Scudetto medal (again Juve deserved it), but one thing is sure, if he really does love Napoli he would be hurting badly cos deep deep down he would way rather have won something with his hometown club, than won something with a club that he really had no feelings for, or for whom he played 5 minutes in that triumph.
When he gets back to Castellamare tomorrow, I hope he can still hear the celebrations in Piazza Plebiscito and they are tattooed on his brain.

Re: Coppa Italia
Agree, Aronica went unpunished today on a few things, but sometimes that the way it goes.
The way I understood it was when he returned from the World Cup he found he was being shopped around to other clubs...I mean it does make a little sense, whilst he is a Napoli native he didn't exactly return on what was a significant investment on him. Either way this as well as the iminent arrival of cavani contributed to his thoughts about where he stood with the club, still as you said if he had as much passion for Napoli as he said he did maybe he should have stuck it out and fought for his place. Not as clear cut as it would seem, personally i think he felt a little betrayed by the talk whilst he was at the world cup, whether there is any validity behind this, is another story.

Aronica is sh*t.
marado, that shows how much you know. The bloke was within millimetres of giving a pen away - how fkn stupid was he to even try to tackle Marchisio.
So please do not tell me you would rather him in your side than Fernandez?

I commented that he did well this morning, considering he has done F*All all season!
that challenge, disrupted Marchisio's shot, and to an extent, injured him, therefore nullifying his presence in the juve midfield.

An uncharacteristically tired looking performance from Juve. There were patches where we dominated possession and got Pirlo on the ball to create, but other than that Napoli were the better team.
I'm reluctant to question Conte's team choices after the season we've had, but when Borriello is bad he's really bad.
Hopefully that's Cavani's last goal for Naps before he comes to Juve

I think you guys would be quietly happy with the fact that you have Higuain in the bag and for 5 million a season.
Van Persie wants twice that figure.
If we sell Cavani it wont be in the Serie a that's for sure.

van Persie is after his last big contract due to his age and form this season which is understandable, but guaranteed Marrotta won't be paying him anything like 10m per season.

Higuain has apparently (I know apparently!!) given it the green light.
Dont worry that is not from goal or tribalfootball.
The other one is that Suarez has instructed his agent to close a deal with Juve.

Not sure if I'd like Cavani at Juve...don't get me wrong he is a super player, just not sure if I could put up with the Nap supporters complaining about it. Question is would he atract the ire of the Napoli supporters in the fashion that Quags has? Having said all that don't see it happening anyway, he loves the club to much, that much is obvious and it would be a tall order to get Napoli to sell to a rival.

Don't get me wrong, never like players leaving, however there are a few subtle differences.Trezegoal #17 wrote:Not sure if I'd like Cavani at Juve...don't get me wrong he is a super player, just not sure if I could put up with the Nap supporters complaining about it. My problem with Quagliarella was the whole boyhood club, kiss the shirt I'm from Napoli sh*t then i'll f*uck off when it gets too hard or i'm under pressure.
Paolo Cannavaro did that - he kissed the shirt, expressed his love and bled for it too. Except he stayed and on sh*t money as well.
If Cavani was to leave, I would only be disappointed if De Laurentiis sold him to an Italian club and for less than 40 million. I know people may not think he is worth that, but I think he is and I think the club thinks he is as well.
Lavezzi is a different story - De Laurentiis let him have a clause in his contract and if someone bids the 31.8 million Euro, then we have to let him go. I cant say I will be happy about it, but we have no choice. Good luck t him, he has been an outstanding servant for the club and I think the tears in his eyes this morning told a story that he will be sad to leave.

We are a chance to sign both Higurian and Suarez. That would be special.
We'd include Krasic and Elia in a deal for Suarez and more then likely less Quags and keep Matri.
Still Felipe Melo, Ziegler and Motta on the books that could play trade bait for getting some big names in to compliment the squad. We will need more quality to seriously give a good account in the league, CL and Coppa.

Not even Juve have 50m for Cavani so that dfinitely is not going to happen.
Italian clubs dont spend big dollars on transfer fees - hasn't anyone realised this yet!
Lavezzi is a typical example - Inter wanted to offer Pandev, Ranocchia and 15m...as soon as PSG come out and offer 31m cash the agent comes out and says its al happening.
the talk of Higuain and Suarex wont happen either so dont get your hopes up.

You dont' think that Ranocchia, Pandev and 15m equals Lavezzi's buyout clause? I think the only reason they are more interested in the PSG offer is becasue then they wouldn't be selling to a rival....same goes for Cavani and who said anything about 50m, great player but definitely not worth that.El Matador CAVANI wrote:Not even Juve have 50m for Cavani so that dfinitely is not going to happen.

Ranochia is sh*t so he's worth about 6 million and Pandev is maybe 10 max. Thats 31 million there if you add the 15.Trezegoal #17 wrote:You dont' think that Ranocchia, Pandev and 15m equals Lavezzi's buyout clause? PSG offer is cold hard cash, not a wanna be CB and Pandev who will be 30 next year.

Re: Coppa Italia
Not disputing the fact that cash is better, my point is that the Inter offer is easily equivalent to 31m. And the point that was made about Italian clubs not willing to pay that figure, can also be applied to the majority of clubs across europe's top leagues, bar a half dozen that have billionaire investors, PSG being one of them. 31m doesn't get you very far these days, maybe two very good players or one top class, instead you would get a defender who is at least better than Aronica, a player who has done pretty well for you thus far and 15m to go towards a very good player, I don't see it as that much of a bad deal, but as I said Napoli will do everything in their power to sell outside of Serie A.

media hype at its BEST, ADL has stated that no-one has evebn offered what he is wanting for Lavezzi or Cavani. So, until they do, Edinson and Ezequiel arent goin NO-WHERE!!!
