Stirling Districts ( 2 ) Southern Knights ( 3 )
Southern Knights edged through to the 2nd Round of the Challenge Cup with an exciting win against Stirling Districts at the picturesque Bradwood Park ground.
The game was locked 0-0 at half time with Stirling having several opportunities denied to them by some excellent defensive work from Matt Harrison, some fine stops by Stephen Maguire and one off the upright. Knights were adjusting to having to play on a Saturday, readjustments to the side and the slightly hard (but excellent looking) playing surface.
The second half openened with 2 quick strikes from Ben Jones (returning from injury) and another excellent tip over the bar from Stephen Maguire in the Knights goal.
Stirling fought hard and got themselves back into the game with 2 well taken goals. Meanwhile Knights had several attempts denied or just too wide of the target.
The game seemed destined for extra time until a 92nd minute goal from Knights ensured passage into Round 2.

Strathalbyn ( 0 ) Southern Knights ( 16 )
A somewhat lop-sided affair with a mature Knights side up against a Strathalbyn side comprising of many younger and less physically imposing players.
Dion Miller returning for his first game in 2013 grabbed a brace, Charlie Hollis chipped in with a brace of his own with other goals coming from Ben Vigeon, Justin Moule, Andre Rickers, Richard Finlayson etc etc.
