We finally got a bit professional with the teams having a count with every round, votes awarded put up on a big screen. We also started the presentation at 6.00pm as we found in previous years we were not finishing until 11.00 / 11.30pm. This year we wrapped it up at 9.00pm giving everyone a chance to enjoy the night.
Les Andrews is in honor of Reds old man which honours a player in the lower grades who shows all the attributes and dedication Les did. Member of the year we give to the person the committee thinks has gone beyond the call of duty and has done a cracking job for the club during the year and the Mary Stevens is for a person who shows the same dedication and hard work as mary has, similar to the member of the year and a good way of honoring mary as well... 8) 8)

We have a night called "Count Night" which is when we count out the votes at the club ala Brownlow Medal style for all the grades. This is the more fun, piss take night with funny photos etc and its basically a big piss up.
Presentation Night is more formal with partners invited where the winners recieve the awards and other awards like Players Player etc are announced.

Love the idea of the awards and who they are named after. I tried to get our awards renamed but the people I suggested didn't want the award named after them lol. Our similar award is called the Presidents award.

Always interesting finding out how other clubs do their Presentation Night and awards.

not vindicated at all paul's has set a high standard for himself and all the supporters are used to and expect to see that standard so when another player has a good game they usually attract the votes, but chief still polls his fair share
