Reserves - Southern Knights ( 0 ) West Beach ( 2 )

West Beach reserves were deserved 2-0 winners over Southern Knights with a disciplined display of football today.
Knights had their chances but West Beach dominated the middle of the park and could have added to their goal tally on several occasions.

Southern Knights ( 3 ) West Beach ( 4 )

Today Southern Knights hosted fellow coast dwellers West Beach at O‘Sullivan Beach.
Knights started the game with urgency and pace resulting in a 2-0 lead early in the first half with goals from Matt Daughtry and Chris Bradley.. Beach to their credit never gave up and by half time had managed to reduce Knights lead to 2-1. Matty Harrison succumbed to injury and the reorganization of Knights defence impacted on their attack with Chris Bradley moving back into defence.
West Beach levelled the score at 2-2 but Knights were able to squeeze ahead with a goal from Scott Bradley midway through the second half.
Hard working Beach bounced back again to level the scoreline at 3-3.
Dam McCombie came on as a substitute late in the game and made his presence felt and it was from his chipped free kick that West Beach slotted the ball home to take a 3-4 lead with minutes to go.
Despite scoring 8 goals in their last three league games Knights have only managed 1 point and the last two home games at O’Sullivan Beach spectators have seen 15 goals scored.

Beach's keeper ( looking a lot like Colin Hay from Men At Work - see below) tries to start a Mexican wave on his own but there are no takers.

Beach's keeper gets a response with a second attempt as Knights Lyndon Parry joins in and a half-hearted attempt from a Beach defender.

Matt Daughtry gives Knights an early 1-0 lead with a well taken header despite Beaches defenders with raised hands protesting
that the ball had gone out from the corner (despite not being signalled by their own linesman).

Chris Bradley who had Beach's defence working overtime, notches Knights second to give them an early 2-0 lead.

Tony Micallef works hard to earn Knights a corner.

David Mooney leaps high trying to connect with a threatening cross.

Lee White clears the ball off the line as Knights hang on to their lead.

The West Beach bench watches on as their side presses forward.

Beach clear their defensive lines and earn a free kick about 30 metres from Knights goal. Ben Jones makes sure the Knights wall is organised before moving from the ball.

West Beach draw first blood in the second half to level the game at 2-2.

Knights rebound to put pressure on West Beach's goal and Matt Daughtrey sends in a well placed cross.

Scott Bradley returning after injury gets on the end of the incoming cross and once again Knights regain the lead at 3-2.

Knights celebrate briefly as all too soon they are back pedalling to keep Beach at bay.

Despite a good effort from Mark in Knights goal West Beach level the game at 3-3.

Beach's Dan McCombie who would like to be in division one again, had an immediate impact on the game.

Beach almost hit the front with a long range drive.

Unfortunately my camera battery didn't last long enough to capture West Beach's winning goal   .
Dan McCombie chipped a free kick over the Knights wall and a West Beach forward latched onto
the chip and drove the ball into Knights net to take the game 3-4 and move onto 12 points from 6 games.
Meanwhile Knights rue their opportunities and have only 3 points from six games.

Gut renching loss, losing a goal in last 2 minutes, after being ahead all day (until it went to 3-3 of course) Matt was a big loss, thought Referee was very good, arguably had 2 mistakes (one where the ball looked out and we scored but not really his call, the second was a freekick we should have been given and weren't and resulted in a freekick and goal to West Beach) so overall evened itself out if I only made to mistakes in a game would be happy. Have had that referee before and is certainly one of the better ones.

A few too many injuries and lack of belief, however are very close to the mark, bit of luck needed to turn our season around

Yeah, I'd be gutted to have lost a game after being two nil up and then three two up.

Beach didn't start well at all but battled away and got out of jail here. Two goals from Dunny from centre half was a great effort and big indivtwoagains chip was Hoddle-esque

Knights had the fastest pensioner I've seen up front.

Poor Grouse n' ice looks like a barbers pole with the amount of stud marks on his torso after the ressies game. Or is that Michael Jacksons willy???

And it didn't happen when I fell over

Cheers to the lads down at Knights, the game was in good spirits and enjoyable.

Cheers to Swanny.......Grouse is by far the most handsome in the photo's  I reckon the lens has added 20 pounds though and not ten.
I am not an alchoholic. Alchoholics go to meetings!

I think your right about the camera, people I meet whilst taking the photos say that I look like I've put on weight :D

Just ordered 2 heavier duty batteries for the camera online for $26 each.
Standard from panasonic was $139
