Re: Adios tiki taka?
Will the FFA and FFSA change its curriculum a little and rather base it on Spanish style base it on the Dutch, German and perhaps leverage of our Aussie style! I cant recall Leckie, McGowan and Oar doing SSG and yet look how their developing. Perhaps whilst focussing on skill we could still ...

Re: Structuring Practice for Effective Skill Learning
thought some might find this interesting...from FA Insight Magazine So what are the thoughts on this article by our leading junior coaches in SA? Do you think the latest approach (national curriculum) is consistent with the learnings from this research? Have any coaches changed their approach based ...

Re: 3 Scouts have arrived in South Australia
Sessions in SA cancelled due to lack of interest. This mob is run by a guy who is Sydney based but spends a lot of time in UK. They apparently get numbers in eastern states but in SA they didnt have engough to have even a small sided game of players in appropriate age categories. They apparently ...

Re: Small Sided Soccer Game Schedule
SSG schedule has been sent out by FFSA. It has placed responsibility onto clubs to work out times of the games. Looks like its too hard for FFSA to schedule times due to the big increase in number of SSG teams and lack of knowledge about pitch availability. Will be interesting to see how clubs ...

Re: Schoolgirls State Trials
I heard that girls who have returned to school but have children at home cant trial for state schoolgirls.
If they can get babysitters like they do for school can they still play?
If not, is this discrminating against some of the girls?

Remove the 16s league.
It is seen as a joke by many anyway, and most 15s want to go straight to 17s.

Trials still continuing. I suspect letters were sent to around 35 lads. 3 teams of 11 players from age groups 93, 94 & 95 are currently having trial games. Two of the teams played tonight. Next games are scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday. SASI looking to select 21 players. Probably 18 field ...

Gleeson Year 10 KO Champions
I heard that Gleeson boys who won the Year 10 Knock Out Cup.
Heard it went to penalties. Must have been close.
From memory this group won the Year 8/9 KO Cup last year.
Who did they play this year and what was the score???

Re: U15 State Team announced.
SA has some great potential. Perhaps what SA needs to be truly competitive and progressive in futsal nationally is a united front rather than than the current segragated approach. Why arent all Futsal clubs under one association. Pride? Money Making? Power? Politics? Well I think all reasons are ...

Re: Modbury Jets Soccer Club - Season 2010 Junior Coaches
Good luck to Modbury Juniors with 11s and 16 coaching appointments for next year. Seems lots of people have opinons as to who are the good junior development coaches? Not sure what basis people are using to judge the coaches? IMO .... many coaches say things like "we are currenty X on the table OR ...

Re: Loss of Potential Talent due to Relative Age Effect (RAE)

Looking at the national futsal results this year only the Boys Under 15s made the semi finals. Last year the same state futsal coach also got the U14s boys to the semis and last year they just lost 3-2 in the semi. Congratulations to the U15s state futsal coach and his team for another great result ...

Re: best teams in the under/17 league for 2009?
Maybe all these Sam Testas are Mylie Syrus or Hanna Montannah  Anyway this Sam Testa topic is getting boring. Based on some of the new recruits Metro has picked up I dont think they will be up there with Para Hills, Adl City, Modbury. Modbury 17s last two years not so good (struggled to put ...

Re: best teams in the under/17 league for 2009?
I think first name of red head striker from Modbury U16s was Hayden.
Did a good job. Scored quite a few goals last year, although was out for a couple of games near end of season with injury (not sure but I think hockey ball to the eye).

Re: best teams in the under/17 league for 2009?
PS If Trevor Hall recovers well from last years knee injury, he will make Modbury U17s even stronger. Was easily best player up until injured in last years U17s. Darsom - Legend Centre Back. What he lacks in size he makes up for in presence, intensity, effort etc. Issac Burns - Most improved goalie ...

Re: best teams in the under/17 league for 2009?
If Modbury U17s dont loose some of their current squad to the 19s (who I believe are struggling for numbers) then they will be hard to beat.
Sam Testa???? Isnt he ex -Modbury, ex-Para Hills, ex- Campbelltown?? What's going on there? Not making the grade or parents moving house lots?

Re: SASI
If the boys are good enough they get spotted by Zone and then State coaches at age 11, 12, 13, 14. The State coaches are regularly looking for and trialling new talent. It is not unusual to see a handful of new players train with a state squad part way through the year. The exceptional players ...
