Re: Qatar v Australia - Preview
I think this post sums up the mentality of so many of this forum - they bag Australia the same way they bag Adelaide Utd 10 posts at least half negative - with one even predicting Australia lose 4-0 yet when we win with a fantastic away performance no posts!!! Australia are through to the next ...

Qatar v Australia - Match Report
Qualification for the next phase has been secured. Many congratulations to Verbeek and the squad for successfully navigating the ‘group of death'. Glass Half Empty I guess I'll start with the negatives. Qatar couldn't handle the Socceroos as a team. The movement off the ball, players interchanging p ...

Qatar v Australia - Preview
The game against Qatar is the most significant of Verbeek’s reign and should the Socceroos lose, the home game against China will be a do-or-die affair for both the World Cup and Verbeek’s tenure as national coach. It is pretty hard to guess how Verbeek will approach this game, whether he will stick ...

Re: Group D: Spain v Russia
A Spanish Armada has sunk Hiddink’s men with David Villa bagging a hat-trick as the Russians were spent packing in a 4-1 demolition. Despite the emphatic score line, the game itself presented Aragones with some dilemmas to consider. Does he break with tradition to suit his prolific striking duo of V ...

Re: Group C: Netherlands v italy
The Italian performance was probably the worst I have ever seen from the Azzurri. Van Nistelrooy’s goal was clearly offside so they were unlikely to go behind. Still, I have never seen the Italian defence in such shambles before. They were hit twice on the counter attack after their corners were c ...

Re: Holman to Kisnoobo to Holman...
Wrote this comment on my blog: Brett Bashing On the other end of the spectrum (in contrast to the fans' love for Nick Carle), Brett Holman has a right to wonder why there is so much hostility towards him, particularly on some of the forums I have visited. For me, his hostility is unwarranted and ...
