Player Power vs Club decision
When player power over rules a club’s decision? Good or Bad? Does a playing group have the right to make decisions that would normally be made by the club? And if a club agrees to playing group’s wishes does it erode the future of the club and that team? While a playing group delivers the game on th...

Re: WNPL Relegation
NTC out. Changing the rules to suit will make a mockery of the decisions made in the past to relegate and deny teams promotion. The NTC is not for the WNPL. Agree with the fact the FFSA won’t allow the NTC to be relegated. With two northern suburbs teams so close together it would be a great task fo...

Re: Adelaide vs Canberra
World class and skilful game by both sides. 1079 attendees on a week night is testament to the profile of the game and the raising of the profile of the beautiful game that the Matildas have brought to Oz football. So happy with the team that over the years have worked hard for little or no remunera...

Re: Adelaide vs Canberra
Good and informed summary Junior. I'm with Rightside. Seems like Willacy is ding a brilliant job and is like a cat on a hot tin roof. Has taken some spectacular saves and has saved the day many times. Has the luck run out. Hope not. I think the line up is settling in and they would hope for no injur...

Adelaide vs Canberra
Sorry Rightside. My prediction this time round is Canberra 3 Adelaide 1. I still think AUFC have a way to go however, I've bene impressed and they will make the finals this season. Canberra are looking very potent indeed and I think they will create at least 3 goals. Then again, a draw is not a surp...

Matildas v Chile
Excellent game last evening (second half was sensational). Chile may be suffering the onset of Jet lag and travel. Given their first outing against the Matildas this may something to do with their performance. Excellent result and well done. I reflect on the team and cast my eye over the Matildas ov...

Re: AUFC - W League 2018-19
Didn't get to watch the full game so I relied on twitter feeds from all sources and I watched a highlights package on YouTube which confirmed the tweets in that AUFC were under the pump by MVC. Very Very lucky to get away with a draw. The line-up was shuffled a tad which is a good sign for Ivan. Sho...

Re: AUFC - W League 2018-19
I may be on my own here however, I've always seen (considered) the overseas stars to be the icing on the cake rather than the "reasons if we are to succeed". Yes they are talented however, they are here for a short time and it takes quite a few games to get into the groove with our local t...

Re: Season 2018
I think Cumberland are trying very hard (or had tried) to remain in the WNPL. Simple thing is that they under performed over the last 2-3 years, and were relegated. Question is? Do they deserve to fall back into the WNPL because of rule/competition changes? No.

Re: AUFC - W League 2018-19
I have more faith in the new regime than with the old egocentric mob. The AUFC-W set up will take time to settle in and maybe not this season. Also needs some work on encouraging more players to come out and trial.

Re: Cumberland's Fall and who gains - Fulham and Comets
Very salient points you have raised. interesting times ahead for the ffsa - you talk about how good Ade Uni and Salis Inter are doing, looking at the results for this year, without being disrespectful to both clubs, just using as a comparison, Ade Uni only won 4 out of their last 12 games, Salisbury...

Re: 2019 WNPL Coaches
Worst kept secret re: McCormack and Chris.
To Westies credit they kept their powder dry and retained the coaches until the end of the season who made the Cup Final and Semi.
Question is who will take over at WA? Big talk is with Steve Maxwell however, plum job.

Re: Cumberland's Fall and who gains - Fulham and Comets
Interesting comments General. Here are my views. FFSA players? Do you mean the NTC cohort? If so, it's is up to them and their parents to decide where to go. Cumberland banked on remaining in the WNPL in 2019 and that all the players in the NTC that were previously with them would return to the fold...

Re: Hindmarsh Facilities
Good discussion. Just to get one thing clear. There is no main game on GF day at Hindmarsh. The quicker we realise each game is a standalone GF and just because it is programmed the way it was doesn't mean that its NPL, WNPL, SL 2, SL1. Anyway, Val can do the hard yards, call the FFSA and the minist...

Re: AUFC - W League 2018-19
Thanks Coyote I won't mention names out of respect for them and so as not to start a public assessment of their abilities. For mine however, I think Ivan was bitterly disappointed at the end of season 2017/18 and that it's time to park the local talent that were on the park the last few years and lo...

3 excellent local products signed up for AUFC. Emily 1 and 2 and Sarah. Congratulations on your selection to the 2018-19 squad. There's a lot of local talent available for selection in this year's squad. I hope Ivan tries something new and brings in new players to have a go. Time for a new wave of l...

Re: Season 2018
Agreed that WNPL season 2018 was very competitive and showcased some excellent emerging talent not only in the NTC but across the league. The Reserves comp also cannot be understated and the depth for some clubs is pretty good. There were some surprises with Adelaide University and Salisbury Inter f...

Re: Cumberland's Fall and who gains - Fulham and Comets
OldSchool you make a lot of sense. Hopefully the book doesn't show the casualties of poor stewardship i.e. the players They always should be at the pointy end of at decision making. I have heard that there was a shake up and that things had gotten better. I must say I was impressed with the way the ...

Re: AUFC - W League 2018-19
Thanks Coyote I ill clarify my comments re: age. Heyman is a class act and will add to the squad in many ways. Ten age reference is that many players in the 25+ age group may have felt that their time was up with respect to the W-League. Given the way the squad has been assembled over the last 3-4 s...
