Re: SATURDAY PROVISONAL LEAGUE STRUCTURE
Yep its very difficult to attract players from the Mt Barker and eastern hills area due to the success of the Hills Hawks and now Mt barker united. I think Hahndorf and Stirling cope better due to their facilities being a lotter higher standard than ours (we basically play on a paddock), although we ...

Re: SATURDAY PROVISONAL LEAGUE STRUCTURE
Strath will have two full teams this year just have a lot of guys who play cricket and tennis so cant play all the pre season games. Always have a few who don't turn up pre season as well. Last season we pulled out of Division 4 and entered just one team at the time of club nominations (not at the ...

Re: SATURDAY PROVISONAL LEAGUE STRUCTURE
The information below is from the league regarding the Saturday Division Structure, including their reasoning for having 2 x 9 team divisions instead of having 8 in one and 10 in the other. Dear Clubs Early in Season 2018, we notified all Clubs in Saturday Division 2 & 3 that it was our aim to ...

Green United Forfeit Behaviour
We played Green United this weekend and had their B Grade not bother to show up for the game. We contacted them at 1pm and were told they were only sending their A Grade. On arrival their A Grade seemed to find it amusing that we were annoyed. Our B grade were kitted up and ready to play and very ...

Apparently the police were called to the Mount Compass V FSASA match this past Sunday. Not sure of the details but the incident was considered serious enough to warrant police involvement.

New team being entered into Saturday Div 4 apparently. This will replace Para Hills who withdrew. Starting this weekend (probably A grade only at this stage) then both grades when they have the numbers.

Re: Another cluster shiraz with the League.
M U Stars pulling their B grade is a rumour I heard at the league meeting last week. I hope its not true but its what they did last year in Div 4. Think TV have lost a heap of players which is unfortunate and difficult for the league to deal with as they were in Div 2 last year and have been ...

Para Hills West have pulled out of Saturday Div 4 it seems. M U Stars seem to be only fielding an A team in Saturday Div 3.

Re: How to improve the SAASL in 2017 and beyond
Totally agree should of seen the look on our players faces when I had to tell them their season consisted of only 12 games. Then we had a forfeit as well meaning we ended up playing 11 plus one cup match.

div 4: Burundi 2: Strathalbyn 1 Good game reduced to 65 minutes due to the referee arriving at the ground and then sitting in his car until 3.20 because he could only see one team warming up, which was Strath. Burundi were not ready on time, still filling in their team sheet (which they borrowed off ...

Re: Time for the SAASL to get tough on Clubs?
Went into the league yesterday to pick up our player cards. Ladies were very helpful and thankful that we send ours through all together. They also told me that even up to yesterday clubs were still asking to register their club for the season, thinking that this was not too late! No wonder the ...

Re: More fixture f*** ups
Why have 'Iggies' been added to Saturday Div 4 so late? If it gives the B grade sides in Div 4 more games then great, but why couldn't this have been arranged earlier, instead of letting in Burundi and M U Stars who only have an A grade. This is getting to bloody confusing. Be nice to play 'Iggies ...

Really sorry to hear you guys have folded. At Strathalbyn we were in a similar situation a couple of years ago. I really hope you get the club going again in the future. Enjoyed our battles with you guys last year. Hopefully we can do battle again.

Re: Time for the SAASL to get tough on Clubs?
No problem A grade getting extra games, but B grade players should be able to play at least 18 games, very unfair on them and creates are large disparity between A team players getting 21 and B team only 15!

Re: Time for the SAASL to get tough on Clubs?
We would rather play the appropriate number of games and learn from the occasional thumping, than loose players who want regular football and can't get it with our B team. New teams that can not field an A and B grade should never have been placed in a two team team league.

Re: Time for the SAASL to get tough on Clubs?
As far as i am concerned the two new teams who have come into Sat Div 4 should have only been allowed in if they could field both A and B teams. As neither can they should have been placed in a single team league! I totally agree that clubs with two teams in separate single team leagues should be ...

Re: M. U Stars New Sat Div 4 team
Our club ref for this season was just sent some info on division 4 for this year, and it stated that 3 clubs in Saturday Div 4 do not have a B grade team. M U Stars was one of them, along with Flinders Uni and one other. it did have draft written on the program, but looks as if B grade teams might ...
