Re: volunteers.... the good, the bad and the ugly.

some good points raised here, "juvefever", I do agree with some of your points, and can understand that angle from some parents point of view. even you guys that suggest the roster system, in the perfect world that is the answer, but in reality it never works, the same few parents putting ...

Re: volunteers.... the good, the bad and the ugly.

im thinking along the same lines as "socca", is it just easier that everyone pay an extra fee at the start of the season, and pay something to some club appointed volunteers, to ensure that every week you know there is someone there to get the job done. some people might complain about thi...

volunteers.... the good, the bad and the ugly.

just putting this out there, having been on both sides of the fence (club official and volunteer), who is right or wrong. a lot of clubs have issues with lack of parent help on game day, as a club official this is frustrating and upsetting. but on the other hand as a parent on the sidelines, talking...

Re: New Junior Structure 2014

I thought I had this figured out.....however, after speaking to someone, they have said that the under 17 league will be a JSL league regardless of where your senior team play. I have also heard if your clubs senior team is in the premier league, your juniors will all (including your b teams who are...

Re: New Junior Structure 2014

My boys play at Metro and we travel 35 minutes up and back. Whilst I agree this is not possible for some and perhaps some may not be willing to drive those distances, one of my boys played in the b division for 4 out of 5 years at the club. Whilst opportunities were presented at the end of almost ev...

Re: Age Appropriate Players

well White City don't mind how many Metro players drove out the carpark, because 97% of thier team come in one car and the other three I saw myself drive out with the coaching staff, and they were in back seats, so I will let you continue to accuse Metro because everyone knows that WC team drive in...

I am more  that you actually measured them....Junior soccer at it's best. Would you sign an affidavit to that effect? Junior soccer at it's worst. No affidavit on this occasion however, please advise the week before you play at our home ground we will do a match day wind speed report and ins...

Re: round 12 results

Sorry, the size of the goals are the reasons for draws? We are talking Junior Football, when a team wins, no complaints about the goal size, they'll take the win, however, if they happen to lose or draw....its the 200mm that made all the difference. Getting a tad silly I think, we've lost and won on...

Just wondering how is the draw done......Last year Metro had 2 teams at this stage and they played each other as well......is this so clubs only have one team in the comp or just freakish co-incidence.

What happened last year involved a few not the whole club. Lets also remember that there are new volunteers/coaches every year who may not be familiar and genuine mistakes can happen (which is probably what happened in this case......we are talking about Under 13's and I am sure that they would not ...

Not sure if its a win at all cost mentality, however, to abuse anyone who is running the line let alone a 16 year old, is disgraceful. I will wait to see if our club is going to take any action.....if not then Ill name who he is

Re: Jory reports 1 million kids can't afford to play sport

Now, I don't mean to sound unsympathetic, however, to 'play' football (soccer), it doesn't have to be an expensive excersise. Yes playing Fed football is obviously more costly, but lets consider that there are other alternative such and E & D. It seems that there is always a wining that we can't...
