Re: Adelaide Budapest

It is sad news. My question is the following: How can clubs like San Marco and Budapest just non exist in 2016? There has to be more to it then just saying this division won't suit us etc I personally fear for many clubs. The next generation are not interested in taking on responsibility and puttin...

Re: Where is SAASL heading..

All of Plympton juniors are with FFSA ( JSL ) The SAASL had the opportunity earlier to create a women's league before last year .. Reason why no one wanted it was all the SAASL club with FFSA women teams are happy to stay there... so the horse has bolted on that one .... Don't see why it matters ab...

Re: Croydon Kings Collegiate - new team - players required

Wonder if teams going to Collegiate as anything to do with the reason why Budapest who requested to go to Div 5 as only able to enter one team (a much weakened one at that) has instead been elevated to Div 3!!! - the leagues response was that there will just have to be a bye for Ressies when fixtur...

All that proves is that they were the best team under the FFA umbrella.

National NPL, is that like an ATM Machine?

Re: Where is SAASL heading..

Typical Aussie attitude I'm afraid. We can't change it because that's the way it is. You'll be accusing anyone who highlights the issues as a whinger next. There is no reason why SAASL can't stand on its own two feet for decades to come. Played in a number of clubs in England and never once did we ...

Re: Where is SAASL heading..

From my point of view I see the FFSA operating not unlike a Coles-Woolworths-Bunnings, they are looking for numbers (ie bargaining power for things such as the FFA Cup, grants etc) in that they will lure groups in at comparable (or possibly cheaper) rates than the SAASL....in an attempt to drive ou...

Re: Where is SAASL heading..

never boring winning a div 1 title, just wish my lot could they've been trying for 30 something years. It's not boring wining it once... Or twice... Or maybe even a few times but after years of winning it or having maybe only 2 or 3 other teams to really beat it may get boring... All I'm saying is ...

Re: Where is SAASL heading..

Unfortunately in the football world the monopoly is FIFA - and it all flows down from there-I don't think comparing a supermarket chain is relevant I love what the SAASL does and has done for years and it should continue to do so but at some stage we will all have to come under the local body under...

Re: Where is SAASL heading..

When are polonia going to tell saasl and csl what league they're wanting to be in? Must have been told already since Alex even called us to see if we would reconsider. Re: Where is SAASL heading..

I think what you are finding is that the bigger clubs are getting bigger. Ingle Farm could field 3-4 C teams this year. Downs, Gardens etc are in similar positions Spot on Jay! Its the clubs who have had minimal to no success (trophies) & little history (time & trophies) in the SAASL who ar...

Re: Promotion

Well else would Polonia players vote to switch leagues? I don't disagree with your comments, but the CSL is not run by the FFSA. It has its own Executive who do a really good job. When issues / problems present themselves there normally there is an equitable outcome. Perhaps they are after an easie...

Re: Promotion

I hate many aspects of FFSA, but I can see they are at least trying to move the game forward albeit with minimal success. If the FFSA told me today was saturday, I'd get my diary out and check it. Have had to deal with a few of them there and I'm afraid to say it but they're incompetent. Who cares!...

Re: Promotion

I think we ( Polonia- Croydon and amateurs ) have taken a massive step in the right direction for the club as a whole... After debating and deliberating this makes sense in so many ways... People were used to their comfort zones, we have been in the SAASL for 20 years, the league obviously does a lo...

Whilst the team will normally play on Saturdays, we are looking at some games being played on Friday nights, along with possibility of the odd "Super Saturday" when the teams will play directly AFTER Croydon senior team at home under lights. That's going to seriously cut into drinking tim...
