Ohringen - The Socceroos training ground

"Here the Socceroos sleep and run..."
The Australian National Team will prepare themselves for the qualifying round in Oehringen-Friedrichsruhe. The Socceroos will take up quarter in the township of Zweiflingen in the Wald- und Schlosshotel which is part of the Wuerth-Group. Training grounds for the team will be the near Otto-Meister stadium of TSG Oehringen. The stadium is located close to the city and the pedestrian area, shopping facilities, railway station and medieval city center can be reached easily by foot in only a few minutes.
Fans and visitors can look forward to the best sportive athmosphere and an unforgettable stay at the Socceroos' quarter. The marketplace between residence and Stiftskirche (Collegiate Church) represents the living heart of the Hohenlohe metropolis and is surrounded by impressive timbered houses.
Residence and Stiftskirche are publicly available. Additionally the city council and the tourist-information are to be found in the residence. The famous wine cellars of the Prince of Hohenlohe are stored in the residence as well and you have the chance to buy the noble wines on site. The idyllic Hofgarten extends in the south of the residence and invites you to relaxe with its "Klanggarten" (sound-garden) and its vivarium.
Public viewing
The one who was not lucky enough to get hold of one of the treasured World Cup tickets can of course watch all the plays in Oehringen. All matches will be transmitted in the WC-tent in front of the Kultura (event center), in the beer garden of the outdoor swimming pool "H2�- das Strandbad " (the lido) as well as in the shopping mall "�-Center" near the motorway exit. Of course, you will find excellent service and best vibes there!
Furthermore, capacities of accommodations, campsites and places for travel vans will be extended for the numerous fans. As a consequence, many Socceroos-supporter can keep in touch with their team and enjoy eventful World-Cup days.

On 15 June 2006, you are inviteted to celabrate a German-Australian festival on the medieval marketplace right in front of the residence. Music, beer, wine, entertainment for the whole family and best moods will surely attract lots of fans to come to the old residence Oehringen.
Journey to Oehringen
Oehringen can be reached directly by the motorway A6 (exit 40 - Oehringen) as well as the motorway A81 (exit 8 - Neuenstadt). You can also travel comfortably by train as cities like Stuttgart, Mannheim or Karlsruhe are accessible in short intervals by city railway line S4 or by trains of German railway.

Friedrichsruhe -The Socceroos' Quarter
The Australian National Team will be accommodated at the best in the "Wald- und Schlosshotel Friedrichsruhe". The district of Friedrichsruhe belongs to the township of Zweiflingen, which is preparing itself together with its 1700 inhabitants to welcome the Socceroos as well as numerous fans and guest.
Region of Hohenlohe as base camp
The Hohenlohe County with its palaces and castles is the optimal starting point for trips to the whole south of Germany. Cities such as Heidelberg, Wuerzburg, Rothenburg, Stuttgart, Munic and many more attractive places of interest can be reached easily.
