World Cup 2026
USA, Canada and Mexico get the world cup.
Australia should move to N America, will be easier to qualify from there than pretending too be asian.
What an absolute joke. 3 countries and 2 of them incapable of qualifying for this world cup. I thought Jack Warner and Chuck Blazer weren't involved anymore.

TBF i am surprised Italy didn’t apply as they need more help than Aus to qualify it seems.

Host nations qualify and it will more than likely be 48 teams. Just FIFA making sure it gets the sponsorship dollars from North and Central AmericaAllez Allez Allez wrote:Do all 3 qualify automatically?God is an Englishman wrote:USA, Canada and Mexico get the world cup.

Re: World Cup 2026
I didn't even know bids were in for that tournament. I thought fifa said they would never co-host another event after the South Korea/East Korea tournament of 2002.

Re: World Cup 2026
All said and done I think the idea of Mexico, America and Canada is appealing and will be a popular choice with many in comparison to Russia and Qatar. More teams will require more venues, facilities, planning etc. and will generate an enormous amount of money. Reckon the big sponsors will be happy, particularly McDonalds who could spin it as the Big MAC (Initials of host nations).
I would seriously consider going as I should be mortgage free and semi-retired by then. Always wanted to attend a WC and this could be the one.

I'd rather it go to someone who has never hosted it before but has previously qualified for the event. Morocco fits that criteria.

Build up them frequent flyer points - you'll need them even after you get there.thebeautifulgame wrote:All said and done I think the idea of Mexico, America and Canada is appealing and will be a popular choice with many in comparison to Russia and Qatar. they were going to need to build 9 stadiums. the WC needs to go to a country who can support it, not make it like another south africa debacleArfa Fuxake wrote:I'd rather it go to someone who has never hosted it before but has previously qualified for the event. Morocco fits that criteria.

Re: World Cup 2026
I would say they'd use the Russian model of fixturing. I mean Russian venues are spread further than this MUC bid would be, or not much difference.Bomber wrote:Build up them frequent flyer points - you'll need them even after you get there.thebeautifulgame wrote:All said and done I think the idea of Mexico, America and Canada is appealing and will be a popular choice with many in comparison to Russia and Qatar. Australia's group matches are separated by a 2.5 hour flight (most northern to most southern venues)

Re: World Cup 2026
I think they should put all groups in one city with a back up for the final group game. eg. Group A in Toronto, Group B in Chicago. For the final game, 2 teams from Toronto to Chicago and vice versa and 2 teams from Boston fly to NY. With the winner of the group staying in their group city and the runner up has a long flight to the other half of their draw.Slinky_Pete wrote:I would say they'd use the Russian model of fixturing. Venues could be
Orlando
NY
Chicago
Toronto
and the other half of the draw
Vancouver
LA
Mexico City
Guatlejara
Minimising travel if you win your group until the final.

Re: World Cup 2026
They will fill the stadia. USA 94 was a very colourful & successful tournament.
Ditto Mexico which hosted 1970 & 1986. And Canada did well with hosting the Women’s World Cup.
I’m gonna go.
