So you can stick your arms out and as long as it's ball to hand it's fine?

Please, continue.

Nani's sending off was disgraceful.

It was a Yellow card at worst as he was fully committed to the ball.

Aberration or whatever he's called   deliberately ran into Nani's foot and went down like he'd been shot.

The Turkish referee has a history of giving Red cards for minor incidents - always against the better side on the day.

Makes you wonder if UEFA should investigate him?

The delicious bit for me was when Nani realised he f*cked up, so he went down like he'd been shot rolling on the ground. As if sway the ref that it was a 50/50.
Then the icing, he gets up with a strong limp that disappears after he sees the colour of the card.

you can't have ball to hand when the hand is in an unnatural position and the natural position for an arm is not away from the body and up in the air.

It's in an unatural position, it shouldn't have been there to start with. Why don't we all run around with our arms flapping around, then if it's hit them it's accidental and play one.

How many people knew it was handball before the super slow motion reverse angle footage?

There's clear handball and then there's "clear" handball. Did anyone on Real's side even appeal for a penalty?

yes, and if the arm is a away from the body then it can be given. He;s lucky not to get a direct red for violent conduct the way he's leading with that elbow.

Cantona would have been proud of that. Mind you, he did prefer the side kick as opposed to the snap kick.

Honestly looks like Nani is watching the ball untill the last second. Very very harsh red.

If history tells us anything Arbeloa should have gotten a yellow card.

So those players that dive into a challenge are OK so long as they're looking at the ball? So was Shawcross when he snapped Ramsey's leg, so was Taylor when he did the same to Eduardo. You have a responsibility to be aware of other players and not be dangerous.

Nani was undoubtedly going for the ball, but led with his studs and, although I think it's harsh, it's not incorrect. If he'd broken a couple of Arbeloa's ribs, would that still have been OK?

Ouch, that hurts.

Now feel free to go back through the football archives and see how many dozens of penalty's have been given purely because their arm is away from their body, whether it be ball - hand or not.

Hell, Joe Allen against West Ham springs to mind immediately. A dodgy one for United against Chelsea (I think) also springs to mind. There's more than enough evidence that position of the arm is a huge factor in the referee's consideration.

The ball is coming over his head. He literally doesnt see Arbeloa until the balls about to touch his foot (or so Nani thinks).

Honestly if you see what Nani did as "diving into a challenge"... lol
