Maybe Ange also just deals better with grown men rather than teenagers. He's a pretty dry sort of bloke with zero sense of humour, maybe the kids just thought he was a complete tool and in turn didn't 'play for him'......

Didn't ange take a team that lost on penalties against Brazil in 1999 to failing to get out of the group stage in the following championships? ie U/17 in 1999 to U/20 in 2001.

Lost to the Brazil in the second round (the same Brazil they had played in the U17 WC final).
