But do you think it means he's 'dominating' or 'bossing' the game?
I think it means he's in control of the game for a small period but not in the way KP was gushing about.

Side note GIAE - do you think having so many different plans for each batsman actually affected the way Anderson and Robinson bowled? I think Ollie is actually a decent bowler but it didn't seem like he was able to bowl to his strength due to the specific plans for each batter. Same with Jimmy

I think modern teams always have a plan for each BATSMEN.

I think the time he was there he was absolutely dominating, right up until the point when he got out.

You could then in theory dominate the bowling for an over, eg hitting 20+ off the over and get out next over. Punter mugged him by saying who cares, he made 40 and he is out!

Well 20+ off an over would certainly be dominating.

Looking forward to the next Test. Hopefully it goes our way but it's definitely going to be another close test.

Jimmy Anderson having a whinge about the wickets

“If all the pitches are like that I’m done in the Ashes series,” Anderson wrote in his column in London’s Daily Telegraph

How is that a whinge? He's basically saying his style of bowling doesn't suit that wicket and he probably won't be selected.

It's a very obvious statement really and something every cricket fan would know.

The irony is that the usual greenish, swing friendly pitches in the past were an advantage to the home side.

So just like all pitches prepared around the world then really.

We must be the only country in the world that doesn't produce wickets to suit our bowlers. Higher moral standards are a pain sometimes.

^^^^^^^^^ maybe Eng has better players and its got nothing to do with philosophy/game plan

on another note....

looks like Anderson's whinge and dummy spit has worked.....lords to be greener and quicker...

If thats the case, Stark or Boland?

What's your definition of whingeing?

Because clearly it doesn't match the actual one.

Well it depends if you're australian or not. Any wicket that doesn't match their exact requirements is doctored.

Do we?

That's happened in one test in a city where it hadn't rained for 44 days.

Who determines what is a "trad" pitch?
