Yeah it always gets thrashed with nab and athelstone sharing the same ground, but compared to other years it isnt too bad, its actually not that bad to play at the moment and i can only see it getting better come late september as long as there is no major downpours just before the competition begins.

Unfortunately these games (as with Socceroo games in the past) are hard to avoid due to the small window between the end of the season and Christmas. I've notified the organisers about this issue and will report back.

What an oversight!

For teams that want to attend the ACL game between Adelaide United and Kashima Antlers, we will replay first round games on an alternate night during the season.

If you're going to the game and want to reschedule game 1, you have to let us know either on the application form, or for teams who are already registered, email:

7aside@athelstonesc.com

We have to know the teams who are rescheduling ASAP so we can organise the game 1 replays.

Just looked at rules etc - what is the reasoning behind not allowing keepers out of the D? Where did this stupid rule come from?

It plays like indoor soccer. There is no real need for the keeper to come out.

With proper indoor (Futsal), the keeper can come out. There are indoor places that dont, but that's not the point. The good indoor comps do let the keeper come out.

As a keeper who plays indoor where the keeper can come out, there is always a need for keepers to come out. I've lost count of how many goals I've saved by simply being quick off the line and coming out of the box. Eg, closing down the angle or acting as a sweeper if a player gets past the last defender.

Play by the rules as they are set, dont go making up your own!

Well all i can say is that this rule has been around for a long time in our competition, a lot longer than i have been involved. No one really complains about it.

Play by the rules that have been applied to this competition or don't participate.

Remember, if you are going to attend the AFC game on the opening night of the competition - let us know on the registration so we can reschedule your game.

If you've already registered, fire us an email at 7aside@athelstonesc.com and let us know if you need this fixture to be changed.
