Canada just beat the USA 1:0. Couldn't happen to a more disliked team. To much activism and no concentration on football.
Now up to the Matilda's to get the job done. Imagine the ratings and interest in the Aussie Women's game if that happened.

After arranging a tie with the yanks in the last group stage game the draw opened up for them and the gold medal was theirs to lose. It’s disappointing they weren’t good enough to take advantage of their good fortune

Anyone seen the replay to see why Australia's goal was ruled out?

It looked soft to me. I couldn't see much from the replay.

I never see refs giving fouls for blocking of that sort in internationals or local games.

We were robbed!

Matildas performed well overall and hopefully will get the bronze.

Did they go to VAR or straight disallowed?

“Matildas”. Yep, on @ 5.30pm S.A. time, today Thursday 5th August on one of 7’s digital channels.

The money men (don’t gamble irresponsibly) have da U.S. of A. as clear favourites. Hope they’re wrong.

Bomber wrote: Thu Jul 29, 2021 8:58 am Arnold was going to "shock the world".

I was not shocked, but seeing, as grosso puts it, a Mickey Mouse tournament, why the big deal then?
Now, Bomber - I gotta know. Are you agreeing with what’s-it’s-name that it’s Mickey Mouse?

Let me remind you of a few gentle facts about Olympic Football:

1. Your country of heritage Polska has won gold and silver there with greats like Lubanski, Deyna, Gadocha, Lato & Szarmach playing in those teams. Polska beat Straya in a semi in ‘92 when it had Zelic, Bosnich, Okon, Mori, Popovic, Corica and T. Vidmar in the team.

2. What’s-it’s-name’s Italia has participated in FIFTEEN Olympic tournaments, winning a gold and two bronzes along the journey. Great players like Chiellini, Pirlo, Nesta, De Rossi & Albertini played in the Olympics. Did they or the FIGC think it was Mickey Mouse?

And look at some of the other gold medal winners like Spain 🇪🇸 with the likes of Xavi, Puyol, & Gaurdiola playing, then Argentina with Messi, Tevez, Aguero, Riquelme, Di Maria, Mascherano & Zabaleta. What about gold medal winners Brazil with Neymar, Jesus, Thiago and Ronaldinho & Adriano playing in past teams? Do you think they or their countries think they were participating in a Mickey Mouse tournament in front of massive crowds?

I don’t think so.

The aussies have a long, long history of loutish behaviour. It happens so often, that it seems to be the norm. Wrecking rooms, kicking holes in doors & walls, vomiting all over the place and general anti social behaviour, which is then condoned by the likes of some of the lesser intelligent morons on here. Perhaps, that's how they are at home.
