2019 Champions & Promotion

Post by Frank Costanza »

Given we're 2 weeks from the end of the season (not including Cup) who has secured promotion and who has won their leagues?

- Modbury have won Sunday Div 4A
- Athelstone have won Sunday Div 4B
- Para Hills have won Sunday Div 3B

- Croatia have sealed promotion in Sunday Div 3A

- Saturday Division 2A could see one of the best finishes in recent years - top 4 separated by 3 points with only 2 games to play.
- Villa (2nd) play Hawks (3rd) this week.
- Hawks (2nd) play Murray Bridge (1st) in the last round.

- Pitbulls and Salisbury Sharks both secured promotion to Saturday Division 2A over the weekend.
- Pitbulls can wrap up the league title with a win over Prince Alfred this weekend, well deserved title if they can get the job done.

- East Adelaide and Adelaide Blue Eagles confirmed promotion to Saturday Division 3A.
- The teams face off this week which should be an interesting encounter with both on 44 points.

If i was to guess id go

MA Hawks
Pitbulls will have it wrapped up this week
Blue Eagles

I'm wondering if 3 teams will go up from Div 3 this year with only 9 teams in 2nd div? 2 down, 3 up perhaps...

3 up from Division 3A could make for a very interesting last two weeks. One Tree Hill and Gleeson are locked on 38 points with OTH travelling to second place Salisbury and Gleeson facing bottom placed Northern Wolves.

Funnily enough, both OTH and Gleeson were relegated from Division 2A after finishing 3rd and 4th bottom respectively in 2018.

Gleeson definitely in the box seat for promotion if this 3 up is true. Much more deserving of a spot in 2A, they play a much better brand of football than not only OTH but also Salisbury Sharks. Gleeson and Pitbulls without a doubt the stand out teams in the division.

Division 2 Sunday is still interesting
PHE will definitely win the Reserves
Rowe Park and Macedonia relegated
Three teams could still win it, however I believe PHE will due to better goal difference
However Savoy could still jump West Beach and move in to second spot if they win their last 2 games, as West Beach have PHE last game of the season at home

Pitbulls haven't beaten Salisbury Sharks yet, Gleeson play a more physical game than the other teams not sure better, OTH honest team probably need to strengthen their defence a bit to gain promotion, Salisbury Sharks play the better Football but struggle against the more physical teams, in the end the win/loss column tell the story, anyway just my opinion from the games I've seen.

Pitbulls are a quality team and deserve to go to Div 2. The other 3 you could throw a blanket over

When was the last time Murray Bridge would have been in the 1st Division if they get promoted? Been a club that's been in the lower divisions of Saturday for a long, long time. Not sure whats happened up there, but i bet some of the big Div 1 clubs will love that drive if they end up getting to Div 1.

Hmmm, pretty sure we were talking about the reserves

PHE 51 PTS and 83 GD
WB 48 PTS and 33 GD

So West Beach have a great chance

Yes, as previously mentioned PHE have won the League in the A's

Yep, Brahma won 3-0 to wrap it up by a point.

Vale survive and Pontians go down with Inter.

West Beach pip Savoy to go up alongside PHE.
