Just watched a lovely video of those lovely liverpool fans who never cause any trouble, causing trouble and being racist in barcelona.
it's OK though, it won't be their fault. Probably chelsea fans.

The famous scouse sense of humour. The soppy grenache looks like a Grandad as well. Pitiful behaviour.God is an Englishman wrote:Just watched a lovely video of those lovely liverpool fans who never cause any trouble, causing trouble and being racist in barcelona.

Re: Champions League 2018/19
That was some game and Liverpool didn't deserve to lose 3-0, but what player Messi is, everything going forward was through him or scored by him and a sublime free kick to cap it all. I didn't think VVD did much wrong, first goal was a great ball and you could blame Matip as much as VVD for not holding a line, he was a bit flat footed for the second, but balls coming back off the bar are luck as much as anything and nobody could do anything about the third.MegaBonus wrote:just wondering if the worlds greatest ever CB played this morning?????
Thought the ref had a good game which helped the match, didn't get sucked in by some of the play acting, although how Milner escaped a card is a bit beyond me.
Liverpool got it all to do now, I can't see Barca conceding three, even at Anfield and they are always likely to nick one with Messi in the team.

I think Spurs have more chance than Liverpool now.Bomber wrote:Yep, looking like a "non-English" final now.
Such a great season but without silverware (most likely) again.

Have to agree about Messi he is an unbelievable player and the real difference on the night. Was Firmino carrying a bit of an injury or on the bench for tactical reasons?Nice One Cyril wrote:That was some game and Liverpool didn't deserve to lose 3-0, but what player Messi is, everything going forward was through him or scored by him and a sublime free kick to cap it all. youre being too kind....Suarez made the run infront of VVD and behind Matip....meaning VVD could see both the run and the ball.....he was too slow to anticipate Suarez' run and the ball in by Alba.....these are the fine margins that separate the best CB's and those who aspire to be them...

Considering the BEST players do not play in England, I think your opinion is incorrect!

Liverpool seemed to have the better chances, Salah Miss at the end could cost them.

You cant be that silly, surely?
Could the answer be the same as why England hasn't won anything in world football since 1966?

Wouldn’t write the Scousers off just yet they played well and were very unlucky to go down by 3, should have got a few themselves. Was actually going for the pool coz I can’t stand to watch barcafuckinglona. They’re a bunch of devious, underhand diving twats but barca are much much worse

It'll be interesting to see how they handle the pressure of being overwhelming favourites, they've been the underdogs thus far.Bomber wrote:Agreed, but Ajax are hot ATM. I don't see how it would be the same as the league has nothing to do with the national side.Michael wrote:You cant be that silly, surely?

However, the modern answer could be the same - TOO MANY FOREIGNERS.

You can add 2 teams in Europa finals. It does not matter where the players come from. All clubs are full of o/s player. This year the EPL is proving vg.

yes it does, if its the "best" league, then why aren't the best 2-3 players playing in the league?
But your correct about point 2, their are too many foreigners in the EPL and if you like at the starting lineups for the x2 English teams in the semis, notice how many "english" born players are there, or lack of.

Re: Champions League 2018/19
Because Barca, Real etc have ridiculously more amounts of money to spend on player wages. Doesn't necessarily make it a better league.Michael wrote:God is an Englishman wrote:I don't see how it would be the same as the league has nothing to do with the national side.Michael wrote:You cant be that silly, surely?

Re: Champions League 2018/19
It's hard to judge because you're not comparing apples with apples. In the EPL there are probably about 6 easy games a year (against Arsenal, United, Chelsea) and the rest are all tough, you don't get much rest. In La Liga, Ligue 1, Serie A, Bundesliga etc, the top teams get about 6 hard games a year and the rest are training matches. I'm 100% sure that if Barca, Real, Juve, PSG, Bayern played in the EPL, they would do well in the league, but wouldn't play as well in European comps.MegaBonus wrote:so, which one is it??? the number or how deep into the comp they go?

Barcelona played only 5 spanish players (how many catalan ??) while Liverpool played 3 English + a jock, other English players could easily have been selected
Ajax (very much a development / selling club) played only 6 dutch players and Spuds played 3 English players + a taff more English players unavailable to play due to injuries
