What is the current hot weather policy?

Post by LRO »

I’ve heard and seen a few policy’s floating around? SAASL and an FFSA one (I’ve seen 2 different versions)
I think the match day ones seem similar but what’s the temp that stops you playing at normal times?

Is there a temperature that stops you training (even after 5pm like hot weather policy) I’ve heard over 39 degrees can’t train or play games?

Just need the official rules/policy not what you may think it is (as I’ve heard different versions from different clubs)

32-35deg game or training completed before 11am or start after 6pm if 36deg all cancelled

That’s the junior policy. Seniors is 36-38 before 11 and after 5. 39 and above is cancelled

Correct for the senior FFSA sides. SAASL have been classified as the junior policy
SAASL SUNDAY PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPION 2010 2011
SAASL CHALLENGE CUP WINNER 2008 2010 2011
SAASL CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS WINNER 2010
SAASL CICHANOWSKI SHIELD WINNER 2009 2011 2012

A bit of work still needs to be done in this area.

Far from clear.

SAASL / CSL / MASTERS / Under 12-17 are all in 1 category.

Games - 32-35 degrees is stated that all games are NOT to be played between 11am - 6pm.

At 11am yesterday in Adelaide the temp was 28.2C
At 130pm yesterday in Adelaide the temp was 29.8C

Clubs played games up to 130pm and their players were not exposed to 30+C. Forecast was 34C

At 6pm the temp in Adelaide was 32.1C

In regards to training -

Training is to be cancelled if 36+C.

Today's forecast was 37C for Adelaide.

At 630pm it was 34.6C

I have discussed this all with FFSA and they did state clubs would need to look at the current temp at the time training was about to start.

A club could of trained tonight even though forecast was 37 degrees.

As mentioned at the start. A fair bit of work needs to be done in this area to make things VERY CLEAR.
