I agree, then let's hope the jocks go for "independence" as well.

It must have hurt so much to see us in a world cup semi. How did your lot get on?

No...no hurt...just comedy value....

My lot have given me the pleasure of witnessing a championship win in my lifetime....

I can’t see why the FA should be exempted from Brexit labour laws.

Have they ever won one of significance?

Comedy value, you can only dream of your lot getting to that stage of a world cup. What we consider failure, you would consider success.

You're not making sense. Why would we have a street parade for failing to get out of the group?

For your post to make any sense you would have needed me to call England's last World Cup a failure. Until then, you're not making sense.

To me, chanting "its coming home" followed by a KO loss, is a sort of failure.

Failure pretty much means "didn't succeed".

And it went home already, to France.

The only difference between this world cup campaign and the 'usual' England campaign is, that they normally talk themselves up before hand and then crash and burn. This time they were very modest in their approach (despite having the easiest group in the history of the world cup) only to get carried away with a win on penalties against a very average Columbia and then a dour win against Sweden, only to then crash and burn against Croatia. Then they lost the playoff for third, before going home like hero's - probably one of the funnier England campaigns to watch for those of us who wish defeat on them

Read somewhere that scotland has only won 4 world cup games ever. Would mean that England’s apparent ‘failure’ in the 2018 cup alone is better than the jocks entire world cup history.

Ha, love the way the English always deflect, just admit, you went from thinking you were cabernet, to thinking 'it was coming home' and it was basically a very average campaign

Since 1966, Scotland and England have both won the same thing at the World Cup >>>>>>shiraz All

No one thought it was coming home, read what Gary Lineker said about you foreigners not getting the pisstake. The English have the ability that other nations don't seem to have, the ability to take the piss out of ourselves.

I'd rather get to a world cup semi final than not even make the tournament. Even Del Amitri summed up the opinion of how scotland might perform at a world cup.

I was in England just before the semi-final and believe me, they thought it was coming home, they were even talking about the 'final' during the France v Belgium game and who they would rather play, they totally discounted Croatia, however your correct on one point, they did take the piss out of themselves

So, you say they were talking about the final. Were they talking about winning it though? Everyone I know was of the same opinion, we had truly excelled to make it as far as we could, we should beat croatia and then it's a one off game and anything can happen but if france or belgium played to form, we would lose.

However, that doesn't make a good story for you, does it.

Given the rapid progess Sancho has made since moving from Man City to Dortmund you have to question why Foden would sign a contract extension at Man City. The game time Sancho is getting at Dortmand has seen him improve whilst Foden given the quantity of talent at Man City , Foden is struggling to get any meaningful game time.

Lower standard of football
Lower standard team
Less money
Less chance of winning a medal
Less chance of knowing the language
Further away from friends and family

I don’t know why he would either.
