Looking for passionate football writers
Hello everyone,
We are looking for new and passionate writers for a site that deals with football and everything around it. You’re free to write about any subject you want or the club you follow from the Premier League to Non-League and from the MLS to NPSL.
The site has been up since around December of last year and so far, has attracted around 50k views.
We have cooperations in place with non-league clubs in the UK as well as USL and NPSL clubs in the US.
We currently have about 30 writers who are all very supportive and fun to collaborate with. Our writers have been able to obtain press passes for matches around the world and we have successfully acquired University internship credit for our writers. The role, unfortunately, will be unpaid for the foreseeable future.
This opportunity is more for someone who wants experience in writing or wants exposure and/or feedback for his work.
Before you comment with “pay your writers” and all that kind of stuff, the role is an unpaid one because no-one is being paid on the site at the moment, everything on the site was made by owner and admins with no outside help or paid work. The writing, design, editing were all created by the current writers and admin team.
We invite you to either:
Send us an article on whatever you’d like to put your passion towards your club in. All we ask is that you write a well-crafted piece, use proper grammar and vocabulary. We will then post the article on the site and put your name as the author.
OR
Become a permanent member of the site, enjoy the above-mentioned press passes and uni credit (if in the US) and have your author box and author page on the site (which will include a short description of yourself + your social media handles).
The permanent member role means you'll be a part of our writer community, a bunch of guys who love football almost as much as you do!
Please PM me for any info or questions.
Thanks for reading.
(Mods, please delete if not allowed, thanks.)

Re: Looking for passionate football writers
Come on all you younger forumites, it could be a great experience for you and you may just land a paid position doing it.
The major Football sites, particularly the restricted access, 'Subscription Only' ones I wrote for, pay very well, I've earned a nice little second wage over the years.
I'm too old to do anymore, as I can't get to many matches, but you guys could make some Real money, if you are as good as you think you are.
Give it a GO!

I guess you'd have no issue working for free then.
If you have a decent product, why would you devalue it to allow someone else to be successful?

I have done it for free before and then they decided to pay me for it, so how is that 'devaluing It to allow someone else to be successful'?
Or do you have an issue about someone being paid to write about Football?
The older I get the better I was.

I have no issue with people being paid to write about football. I have an issue with people trying to make money from free stuff.
I am good at my job and as such I charge for the product I provide.

The same applies to those who write articles for web site and magazines - they are good at their jobs, etc.God is an Englishman wrote:Old Master wrote:God is an Englishman wrote:I guess you'd have no issue working for free then.

Do they get paid for it? If not, they are cheapening their product.Old Master wrote:

No more than you do to your employer by spending most of your 'working' hours posting on this forum.

My employer has no issues with me posting on here. In fact he encourages me to do so.Old Master wrote:God is an Englishman wrote:Do they get paid for it? If not, they are cheapening their product.Old Master wrote:
