Some I saw stand up to leave, then we got the goal to be 3 points down. Then they stayed.
So I guess you cant rely on this imaginary 19th man to get you over the line in tight ones, even though the odds might be against. I've sat through maulings and wouldn't dream of leaving early. Take the good with the bad and support through thick and thin.
One day, you'll be 15 points down with 3 minutes to go and actually go on to win. So how will all those who left early feel then?
Stupid.

The amazing thing is, what games do you dream of having witnessed - thrashings (ok, especially if against certain teams) but really the ones you often remember most fondly are the ones where you snatch it in the end, coming from way back. Why would you risk it?

You stay to the end no matter if your team is winning or losing!!! But I have found crows supporters do it more than any other supporters!!

Maybe everyone doesn't adore AUFC

Last time I checked it's not an AUFC supporters only forum

So no need to tell them to 'F OFF'

not so sure.............

Ive made at least 6 interstate footy trips across 3 states and have seen 12 clubs play (finals and non final games).....from memory...

Richmond and magpie supporters are the most volatile....spewing vile and walking out on the team well before the siren

every club has them....

I even recall the 2005 semi final....Adl 18.15 (123) V Port 5.10 (40).....power fans had left Footy park before the end of the 3rd Quarter

The worse for vitriol are Carlton fans, in my experience.

I haven't been to too many victories in Melbourne, so can't gauge the frequencey of walkouts of other clubs.

Every club has supporters who leave early. I can't understand why anybody would leave early.

Yea but we usually abuse our players as hard, if not harder than the opposition.

Doesn't do us much good any weekend. Should never abuse your own players; unless they are mentally fragile pea-heart's like most of the Carlton list.

The tribunal is a joke. How did Viney even get report let alone suspended? All he did was brace himself for contact. It was completely accidental. They need to stop basing reports on injuries unless it's intentional.

See AFL is concerned about the significant drop in the number of goals scored and the ugly style of football now offered.

I noticed last night crows "supporters" suddenly didn't care about nicking out early and beating the traffic. Odd, was probably more traffic to contend with than last time....

Sydney looking very good after that 110 point win over the Cats tonight. No idea how GWS beat them, premiership favourites at the moment I would think

Might sound bad but part of me was hoping GWS got another thumping so more questions are asked. They are the biggest mistake the competition has ever made. Why Greater Western Sydney has an AFL side and Tasmania doesn't comes down to Western Sydney having more people = more cash. Or at least that's what the AFL thought, GWS crowds are a joke, you can't just set up an Aussie Rules club in Rugby country and expect the people there to convert to the sport or adopt the side, especially given the rivalry between the codes. Tasmania has an already established AFL fanbase, produced some of the game's greatest players and has more and more kids getting drafted each year. The entire state would've been behind a side had the AFL put them in, much like the entire town of Geelong gets behind their team.

2 things about GWS.....

1 - They've beaten the Power
2 - They've beaten the Power

The majority I saw leaving was when Melbourne went 15 points up with about 3 mins to play. Usually that's enough of a gap (and it was proved to be).

I contemplated leaving early in the last showdown at AAMI stadium when port were down with a few minutes left but I'm so glad I stayed :D

The games needs an offside rule.

The way some teams position themselves these days you'd almost think there was an offside rule in force.

Well, karma can be a biatch.....

@ Bomber.....is it a coincidence that Essendons 'defensive' quality has improved since the arrival of Nathan Bassett and Neil Craig?
