In what was a hard fought game, Southern Knights emerged with a 0-3 victory and their first clean sheet for the 2013 season.
Tom Foglia opened the scoring for Knights but Blue Eagles were unlucky not to be level before half time after they scored a well taken goal only for it to be adjudged offside,
despite Eagles appearing to chase down a kick from Matt Harrison toward his own goal.
To add to Blue Eagles woes, they had a player sent off midway through the second half followed soon after by a second goal from Tom Foglia.
Eagles always looked in with a chance from a barrage of long throws deep into Knights penalty area but few resulted in any clear chances.
A third goal by Knights secured the points and a fine save late in the game by Stephen Maguire gave the visitors their first clean sheet of the season.
*Several injuries to key Knights players and the loss of Chris Bradley (off to Europe), will make next weeks cup encounter with West Beach even more of a challenge.

A solid away victory for Southern Knights Reserves with a hat-trick from ever improving Dustin McMahon, two goals from Anthony Micheal and an excellent strike from Sam Ferguson.
Playing on the smaller field at the back of Marden meant players were cramped for time and the uneven surface made play difficult for both sides.
Anthony Micheal, a diamond in the rough, is beginning to hit sparkling form despite copping a bit of heckling from opposition supporters.
Sam Ferguson provided a great goal with a sweetly hit strike.
