SAASL Sunday Division 2 - Round 3

Munnno Para City ( 1 ) Southern Knights ( 4 )
............................................David Mooney 2
............................................Aaron O'Toole
............................................Anthony Micheal

A good performance by Knights in picking up 3 points on the road, unfortunately costing them two suspensions nex tweek (Cup Round 1 )
as they were reduced to 9 men (due to 2 yellow cards) in an entertaining encounter.
Munno Para also lost a player due to 2 yellow cards in what was a hard fought but not overly aggressive game...both teams gave and took for the full 90 minutes.
Special congrats to David Mooney who picked up 2 goals making him the highest league goal scorer in Southern Knights 19 season history, moving 2 goals ahead (64) of Glen Walsh (62).
Aaron O'Toole opened the scoring early in the game and David Mooney converted from the spot minutes later.....Knights took a 0-2 lead to the break but were reduced to 10 men just before half time.
After the break David Mooney was on hand to head home Knights 3rd. from a Jamie Faulkner corner.
Stephen Maguire did well to tip a goal bound strike over the crossbar but moments later Munno Para pulled a goal back heading home from a well taken free kick...
Eventually substitute Anthony "Diamond N D Rough" Micheal capped it off with a 4th for Knights just before the final whistle.
A good all-round performance from Jimmy Stewart, Matt Harrison, Robert Marsden, Tom Foglia and Chris Bradley along with Sam Jones stepping up, as he is easily capable of, and Iain Stewart putting in another strong game.

Reserves
Munnno Para City ( 1 ) Southern Knights ( 1 )
............................................Charlie Hollis

Southern Knights Reserves welcomed back Andre Rickers (injury) and Ben Vidgeon ( two weeks retirement) to replace Sam Jones (1st. team duties) and Paul Thompson (retired).
A good fighting knock for a slightly undermanned Knights Reserves today with Charlie Hollis putting the visitors in front early with a fine strike that took a deflection passed Phil Hallard in Munno Para's goal.
Munno Para pulled a goal back in the second half from a free kick that Phill Smith parried onto the crossbar only to see Para first to pounce.

Very true! and the Clubrooms upgrade looks excellent...there's still a lot of season to go.
I'm sure Tom, Matt and their teams will bounce back with a vengeance.

Thanks guys, like I said on the night you guys were more hungrier on the day and deserved the win thoroughly. And thanks for hanging around for awards and having a feed and drink. It's A long drive home so the fact you hung around so long is a credit to you guys and much appreciated.

And always good catching up with ya Swannsong, looking forward to round 12

Nice to see some familiar faces in those pictures - glad they are all playing would be too much of a loss to the game if they weren't. Must say the MP coaching staff are a very fine collection of men!
