Congratulations Cumberland United

Post by Red4life »

Just wanted to congratulate Cumberland under 13 JPL on their great sportsmanship, this is the first time this year we have travelled to their ground this year, and everyone involved in their team was fantastic, from their team manager welcoming us to their club, the coach's and the way they conducted themselves, you should be very proud of the way you represent your club and your team, good luck with the rest of your season :D

With all the bitchiness and negativity talked on here it is refreshing that someone can take the time and effort to appreciate others efforts, well done r4l.

Would be nice if that sort of reception could be shown at all grounds. It seems those sheep stations get bigger every year along with the Argo. Onya Cumby!

Of course everyone is allowed their own opinion, however Adelaide City are the best team around in that age group, and Rob you have every thing to do with that, you are an amazing coach and person, Cumberland are very lucky to have you, Rob has pulled my son over after games and encouraged and supported him, and he was the opposing coach, you are all class. :D

Not sure how you can say Adel City are the best team around in this age group, they will finish 2nd by at least 6 points and didn't make the cup final. During most games Rob carries on like a pork chop, abuses the opposition coaches & managers. Every game he loses or draws he tells everyone that they outplayed the opposition and were the better team. Good luck Cumberland.

If true, another good coach and absolute gentleman who played a huge part in the development of many very good players at Ad City. Good luck Eddie.

Ditto. AC may have lost more than coaches this year.

Is this the same Cumberland that has a win-at-all costs culture even at under 9 level?

Can't comment on under 9's but the Cumberland team my boy played yesterday went hard and fair with a good degree of skill and there was not a bad challenge or comment to the referee or anyone else throughout.

Good coup by Cumberland picking up both coaches at under 14 next season. Will some of the better players follow?

You'll get coaches who are less than sportsmanlike and put an over inflated importance on winning at every club. Painting the entire club with the same brush is a little unfair. I think you will find most teams (and coaches) that come to play at Cumberland are treated with respect and always get a competitive game ... Having quality players and coaches wanting to be part of the club is evidence of that. Sorry that your experience has not been a good one ... Maybe next time!

Saw him last night in Action he was very disappointing abusing kids , officials and opposition .
I don't think Cumberland would be happy . Rob learn to coach and stop abusing every one for your failures.
