Strip issues

Post by limozeen »

What's the law regarding a ref allowing a player to play with a strip that varies from the rest of their team.

Today a kid played in red top and black shorts. Rest of the team red and white. Ref said nothing before or during the game but at the end of the game the ref said he has to "report" the player for having black shorts.

I would have thought the ref would have an obligation to deal with that before kick off if he had a problem with it?

Exactly right, some refs are that anal that they wont allow different colour bicycle shorts, so what happens with the report now? does the club get issued a fine?

Well I have no idea. I'm waiting to find out. If the ref said something at the start we might have been able to do something about it.

Not to mention at least 2 players on the other team were not wearing their team strip just blue T-Shirts.
