Head-shaking results

Some extraordinary JPL results this season- are teams getting graded appropriately?

Noticed in the 14s 15s 16s
You'd expect big scores in 13s and under, but can't believe some "big teams " getting murdered.
Skillaroos are bottom of 15s and 16s, with some horrible drubbings without a point in either league.
A few other big teams copping it too.

I’ve seen lots of U18 teams with U15/U16 players. Never the same when the best 5-6 players move into U18’s

A goal every 3 minutes is evidence of a mismatched competition.

There's a Southern club that has pushed up an U15JSL to U16JPLC and they are getting flogged. I'm assuming it's got something to do with the FFSA ruling of NPL clubs fielding a team in each age group. They were competitive in last years U14JSL but not an overly great experience and again it's not exactly the team the players/parents paid the privilege for.

Raiders U12 JPL won 17-0. Again, a symptom of clubs HAVING to play a JPL team even if they are not up to that standard.

And alot of those teams with 15 and 16yos are losing heavily also. especially in the S1 & S2 comps.

Panthers and Sturt losing heavily in the NPL as well and they have very, very young teams.

Does not do those players any good. U18s is the age group to compete and be to competitive, to be winners. It's not a development age group.

Where it's particularly frustrating is where a team wins 4-2 one week then loses 10-0 the next round. It's not that 1 team is in the wrong div, the whole thing is all over the place. Seems to be a couple of teams who beat everyone 8-0 on average, a couple who lose every game 8-0 on average and those in the middle who see-saw form winning to being smashed.

So U12 JPL score today 22-0. The team who scored 22 only had 10 players...

Top of the ladder with +55 goal difference. Terrible for the losing team and doesn't help the winning team develop either.

That's the reason why the U12 comp is so much better now. The competition splits after round 9 so the team on the losing end will find itself in the C division playing teams of similar ability, likewise the other team who will be in A's.

Yeah agree that is very good. I still think, though, that the early structure could be better set up. Maybe try and have a punt at who you think will be in the As, Bs, and Cs to at least try and get things vaguely sorted. Then after round nine there's a few movements not mass changes. Also try to avoid the humiliation for some teams. Any way it is what it is I guess.
