Not necessarily. The goal for a lot of them was to take next step to u18s. Quite a few of them did that. A couple made the decision halfway through the year to stay in u15s. By that point more than half the team wasn't there. They were a pretty close knit unit too.magnet wrote:That's pretty disappointing. You would have thought winning the division would have made them determined to back it up the following year. Surely with not one player turning up for trials there was some politics at play.zackadacka wrote:I heard that not a single member of last year's squad was at trials... Six are playing u18s. Two playing u15s again. At least they can't blame last year's coach
The u16 were beaten soundly in a friendly against Adelaide Hills, so probably made the decision an easy one.

Fixture change requests were due back today.limozeen wrote:So do FFSA have a date that they will release the final fixtures?
They haven't put a date on when the fixtures will be released. All they have said it that changes from requests will be made and fixtures will be released prior to the junior seasons starting.

They've got 2.5 weeks then I guess

U16 JPL, that will be FFSA forcing their hand due to the stupid rule of having a JPL club in each age group.limozeen wrote:So SAs U15 JSL players just got promoted to U16 JSLmagnet wrote:

Agreed. Making everyone have a JPL team even if they don't have the quality is stupid. There are JSL squads who would beat JPL teams and JPL teams that would be better off in a JSL league. Teams should be graded on ability not everyone needs a JPL team and any other teams are all JSL. Friendly on the weekend ended 14-1 between 2 JPL teams and could have been 24-1 if they played at their top level. Gonna be a long season for some teams.

not a bad idea but we know that will never happen. as someone has said before the JPL/JSL should be scrapped and just have one league.

Should have 1 league with 3/4 (or however many needed for the age group) divisions.
U12s get placed based on historical performance of the club and based on club request.
U13s upwards get placed based on previous year's performance, ie promo and relegation style.
If the amateurs can do it why not the FFSA comps.

From what ive heard Croydon's coach has requested to play in B Div
Re: Jpl draft schedule
If the coach did request to move them into the bs then good on him, if the payers of his team don’t agree then they can prove the coach wrong and go out and win all their games comfortably.
West adelaide could learn a thing or two from croydon, rather than forcing the federation to keep their teams in higher levels even though finishing in the bottom 2 at times.

no because it will change and people will upload to their team app (as happened last year) and people turn up in he wrong place at the wrong timeEvoFred wrote:Can someone post the spead sheet.
Re: Jpl draft schedule
Far call if that was the case. I suppose that not all teams had the excellent team manager that we had (and no in was not me).Pie and Bovril wrote:no because it will change and people will upload to their team app (as happened last year) and people turn up in he wrong place at the wrong timeEvoFred wrote:Can someone post the spead sheet.

Re: Jpl draft schedule
As others have said the games will change not too long into the season. Last year the club gave us a printout and pretty much said throw it away after a month and refer to the website and the emails and texts that the team managers send out every friday night. We had a family roll up to an incorrect ground in August because they put the printout of the original fixtures on the fridge and refered to that. Maybe old school parents that arent good with technology but you can only hold peoples hands so much.EvoFred wrote:Can someone post the spead sheet.
